Domestic cases are on the rise again. In the state of Hawaii alone within a year, several women have lost their lives due to spousal abuse. The most recent of cases where a man shot his wife & son than committed suicide. The last two, a man chased his girlfriend after hitting her a few times, than dragged her out of the car & struck her repeatedly with the butt of his rifle in the middle of the street in a quiet neighborhood, one good citizen stepped in to help and was than knocked to the ground. The Man left the scene after his brutal attack which was witnessed by many. The other attack was with a couple who recently married,
after the guy was released from prison. A month into the marriage, he was high on crystal meth and stabbed her in the leg. Two months later when she decided she had enough and was ready to leave, he stabbed outside the door of their apartment building. When neighbors did come out after hearing pleas of help, they found her laying at the front door with a knife stuck in her chest and other stab wounds to her front torso. Another case a few months back of a family of seven, known to be respectable and well liked in the neighborhood. The father came home one evening, shot his wife and shot himself while the kids were downstairs.
Motive was unknown as 5 children were left to wonder what happened to bring on a tragedy such as this.
During this past year while other citizens have tried to help those who were being abused, four of them were killed.
God bless the relatives of those families whose loved ones lives were taken by the whim of anger of another.
Stop domestic abuse now!
I think all your references are about men abusing women and their families. How many 'women' abuse their families? How many stories of a mother going berserk and drowning their toddlers, or hanging a child against a door hang and burning them with cigarrets, and other abuses, or any of a number of infanticide incidents, or for that matter abusing or killing their spouse. You do address, "God bless the relatives of those families whose loved ones lives were taken by the whim of anger of another.", but like I say you don't write about women abusing their families, much less neglecting them.

So, who would determine who is eligible to breed if it were regulated, and what should be the qualifications?
THat you are able to feed and clothe yourself. that you have a roof over your headThat you can at least read and write on an elementary level. That you can prepare your child to become a productive member of society. That you can provide your children with the most basic needs.

Not that this is fair. However as a woman, you have to be responsible. A man can get you pregnant and walk away, and you are saddled. Happens in nature all the time. It is not fair, but it is life. Yes, it takes two to make a baby, and the fathers are no better. You are right.

They should lock him up in an old full of crap outhouse, in the sweltering heat and leave him there until he dies, then just toss him down the hole.

I dont think anyone thinks this is make believe, I think everyone is dumbfounded thatthis wasnt discovered sooner thats all . I agree with many here.
Why didnt someone smell it sooner.
Why didnt she break out - my ex held me and three little boys for almost a week, through intimidation like this man , I waited until he finally fell asleep ,,armed to the teeth.
Then I put the 2 yr old on my hip madethe other two ,4 and 6 hold my hand.QUIETLY unlocked the window,, shoved the two older ones out then went out myself with the baby and I ran like I was on fire to the neighbors. It took me three houses to find someone to answer the door , but I did it and it was a cop ....
and like someone said , he was a huge meth head and could stay up for DAYSSSSSSSSSS. I had to wait for him to crash.
He was angry over our soon to be final divorce, however he had ,severe behavior problems during the entire marriage that I failed to see the depth of before marriage ... I STLL blame myself for not getting out sooner .
I am sorry she was so afraid that she couldnt move .
TY friends on fire , wish I known sooner.
People out there will sit on he sidelines and judge someone not "knowing" what is like to be in this situation. "I would have", and "I should have" never got any job done. Don't beat yourself up- you and your babies got out (alive), as SOON as you possibly could. That you can be thankful for. I'm sure that you saw signs for longer than a week or two,(you had already filed for divorce) but you needed the strength to get out of the situation. Sometimes living in these situations causes depression, and a feeling of helplessness. Some people feel like they have no place else or anyone to turn to. Away from a "situation" and getting your right mind back, you can see more options that might have been overshadowed by the depression. If you haven't been in this situation,(as you have) people can sit around and say why didn't you do this or that... but reality is unless YOU have been there and know ALL the circumstances living with a nutcase, keep your judgements to yourself.

There are LOTS of Black people who live in places like this, and NO one is even holding them hostage or forcing them to stay in filthy roach infested environments with druggies/thugs, so I guess they "like" living this way.

Well theres no need to be defensive. The fact is that more than 90% of crime is done by males, thats just the way it is. Ya obviously women do things, but you shouldnt be surprised the stories were all male, not to mention crimes with a female suspect always get more media attention because its so uncommon. Its also common knowledge that women get harsher sentences for their crimes, especially murder
