Was 1/16 of a mile north of Mantoloking bridge today, the houses that are off there foundations the town is not letting in but the houses that are intact, they are. They have removed all wet items out to the curb, front doors are open and i saw many houses with the sheet rock cut open to let walls dry out. Wow....Was in Lavallette, Many are damaged, but many faired well.My complaint is what is taking our officials so long to let out contractors in to start remediation to the one's that faired well,i know Ortley is a shambles but rt.35 south is passable .Lavallette says streets could have sinkholes .I've seen large loaders driving down streets with dead cars that they are putting at the ball field and don't see any of them having a problem. LBI is open, My Dad lives across from the ball field and can't gain access to his personal belongings let alone remove wet furniture and rugs .According to Lavallette website, roads are not safe zones yet near ball field. Lets get going...every day the water is left in the house, the more damage it's doing

Re-entry to Lavallette seems tediously slow considering the elected officials are saying it's in better shape than other communities, and we read that Pelican Island, Seaside Heights, and some of the TR beaches are gaining access. Our house has been in what they call the safe zone in Lavallette for days now, but no access, no timeframe for re-entry. It is not even having gotten a projection when we can get our two hours to assess, secure and winterize that is causing extreme anxiety. And, as for the houses that are sound but wet or have wind damage, or even no damage, the situation is only going to get worse, not better, as they sit unattended and freezing weather sets in.

We registered as directed by email for bus access, but got no confirmation it was received. We are 8 hours away and have no idea if we'll get an email tonight, tomorrow, next week or never. Some confirmation, projected time frame, goals would be greatly appreciated. We just want to get to the house for a few hours to set it straight for the time being and lend a hand to our neighbors. And after that...there's the issue of an insurance adjuster and a contractor getting there!
