Your distructive behavior will get someone killed. Clean your own back yard before you start trying to clean others. And get real!! You never liked your uncle Eric! You have NEVER had a nice thing to say about him. You are just in this for the attention and drama. Hey but that's all we really expect from you.

please put yourself in my position -the Berry family. Here I've just lost my uncle & I see how you were all busy saying who has medals of honor & needs grammar lessons. I'm pretty sure there are bigger problems than that. Imagine your uncle, father, son, brother in his house having false acccusations filed against him & the officers ENTER HIS HOUSE & "shoot to kill." I'm pretty sure it's legal to have a registered weapon in your OWN home. Like you said there was noone in the house when the police officers got there; therefore noone was at risk, it was the officers that put themselves at risk. Not to mention the fact none of you have all the facts & are running your mouths. Considering the fact she's driven her first husband to suicide, and filed numerous false reports on her second husband; & made out like a bandit in every situation, but SHE'S the "victim?" All she did was mooch off of him & sit at home, didn't work & stayed drugged out all the time.
-So before you go & point fingers, assume things & accuse false things about my uncle (my uncle that has the biggest heart, always made you smile, had the best stories to tell, & give his shirt off his back for any stranger, even you sick people saying he should've died) please remember his family is reading this & it doesn't exactly help reading your negative input. At least have a little respect, please.
-God Bless.
the victim, is my aunt. i know how eric treated her. you need to get the facts straight on someone's life before you post them. her first husband did not commit suicide. he died of a heart attack at the age of 28. his condition was related to injuries that he recieved in vietnam. she had two little girls at that time and was nine months pregnant with her third one. therefor, she was left with three children to raise by herself. her second marriage lasted for over 20 years that ended when she and eric got together. she worked and supported him in indiana. he moved her to arkansas and promised to take care of her. she became disabled, and she recieves a check each month. she never used anyone. maybe you need to read some of the emails that he has sent to her family, and see some of the pictures of him with his whores.

Bless your alls heart. Everyone has failed to mention the fact that, Eric Wayne Berry, was a veteran. He fought in the Gulf War, fought for our country, for you, me, our officers & this is how they repay him? Great country! & on the DUI he got, I'm pretty sure there are senators who have gotten some. Google it.:)
God Bless you.
Well, God, please bless "his niece" because she's not got all her marbles. You should be embarrassed to even mention that he was a veteran and to think we have to "repay" him. For what? Putting an innocent police officer's life in danger? Costing the police department lots of money to keep chasing after him when he keeps threatening bodily harm on his family?? A TRUE veteran would've listened to commands, put down his gun and the situation would've ended very differently. We don't owe him anything. HE owed it to his wife and family to be a decent human being and owed it to US to act honorably and be someone to look up to. Because of his own actions, his children will no longer have their father. He didn't think of anyone but himself.

Domestic calls are one of the most dangerous calls for officers because tempers are already out of control. In this situation one of the parties involved had a firearm. Not sure where your logic comes from shooting someone in the leg but thats just plain stupid. The female party involved called the police because she was in fear of her life. What if the police hesitated or for some dumb reason like one of the people here commented said shot the guy in the leg and he in turn shot a police officer or shot his wife? Im not sure what some people think when they respond with some of their comments!!!!

So let me guess, "You are not a sharp shooter like the police protecting us are suppose to be." Have you ever been shot in the leg? I have. It will stop any person until they regroup on what is going on. With that many officers around and if he had a second chance to take another aim then take the kill shot. If you don't agree then you are a murderer also.

The police are NOT sharp shooters. They are marksmen. The difference a sharp shooter is trained to at times when appropriate thake a shot that will not kill someone or to shoot a person who has a hostage but not the hostage. Regular police are marksmen which means if they are forced to fire the idea is not to wound it is to kill. Everyone who disagrees with you is not a murderer. Some of us just have sense enough to know that this mans actions caused his own death.

I would of shot the suspect in the leg first. If your shooting a gun in city limits, it should be pointing towards the ground in- case of a miss. Sure the body is a bigger target, but that is a kill zone also. The suspect never fired a shot and should of been hit in a body part that was not life threating. It kinda makes me feel unsafe to even drive to work. If I get pulled over for speeding and go to release my seat belt so I can get my wallet out of my back pocket will I get shot by a trigger happy police officer.(Makes you wonder.) The police are suppose to be trained to be marksman. I shot a glock before and missed the bullseye. But the second time I shot I was close because I had enough common sense to see where I was aiming and where the bullet hit. You have to compensate for that. These officers get to have practice at firing the weapons and should be able to determine if it is a kill shot or not.
Well ok lets talk about your comment. Since you opened the door as to saying what it is you would do if you were the officer think about the following. People die from being shot in the leg too. They have these things called arteries that can expell large amounts of blood in a matter of seconds that could cause you to expire. Would you really wait for the person to shoot first? And if not, do you think when a person gets shot they really just drop to the ground instantly? By not "stopping" the threat and the ability of the person you are dealing with to fire back at you, you increase the chances of you not going home to your family that day. Man I hope you have great insurance and deep pockets because you just gave the person you shot a lotto ticket and his payoff would be after the law suit he filed on you is won by him. And your reason for shooting him (most likely because you feared for your life)won't help you because a good attorney will convince a jury of twelve of your peers (that probably think just like you) that you could not have been to scared for your life because you only shot him in the leg. As for you being shot by a "trigger happy police officer" on a traffic stop, don't break the law to get stopped. If you do just let the officer know what your doing before you do it and I am sure you will be fine. Oh and for the target shooting, its easy to stand still and shoot at paper when its not shooting back at you. If you really want to know what its like to shoot in high stress situations, look up stress shooting on the net and read about how your body reacts to high stress shooting scenarios. I can tell you from experience that you are so focused on the gun of the person you are not aware of what is going on around you. Tunnel vision, audio eclusion, rapid heart rate, shortness of breath and delayed reaction to mention a few. Easy to judge until you have been there.

Aaaaa that explains it then. Jim I'm sure your a good person and I don't know you but its hard for me to believe that a Vietnam Vet and a Medal of Honor recipient thinks that way. If you truly are a MOH recipient you of all people should know that shooting to wound is not how that medal is earned. And if you are not then you should be ashamed of yourself for claiming to hold something that brave men have given their lives for. But keep your voice strong because your fought for that freedom for us to enjoy. Many brave men and women were not as lucky as you to come home to enjoy that freedom.

Jim, You have been watching to many cowboy shows. This was real life not where some sheriff with perfect skill gives the bad guy a flesh wound in order to let the him learn the errors of his way.
But let's look on the bright side, the cop did not double tap this guy which would have been a lot more messy.

You're in the mood to spend some money today. That's fine if you've got it, because you'll have a wonderful time strolling around the shops. But it isn't such good news if you're supposed to be sticking to a strict budget because that will be well nigh impossible once you've seen something that catches your eye.
