The man fired 8 rounds at the officer all the while advancing on him. He struck the officer 4 out of eight times that's a 50% hit rate. two rounds hit the door of the poilce car, other wise those too would have struck the officer. If the officer hadn't fired back when he did Tristin would have finished him off. This "nice young man" ambushed a police officer!! This was a deliberet act of a cold blooded killer. What the hell is the matter with you???

DMH wrote: Oh, that's nice! What a humanitarian you are! The truth will come out, eventually, Tristan will be punished....period. This is definately out of character for him, absolutely not who he is, etc. He has much support from this community and will all day, everyday...even in prison! We are all glad the officer wasn't killed and pray for him and his family, but at the same time, we are praying for Tristan and his family....is that ok? Thank you, you said it so much better than I did (evidently).(and even though it says I am from Searcy, I am in FSM)

Tristen said he did it, the officer said he did it, the 4 people in the truck said he did it....I guess he really is a "nice young man" You folks have obviously never been in a fire fight or had to literly fight for your life or your immediate survival. Like officer Parsons had to, because of Tristen..that "nice young man".

I have known honey for a long time, and have worked with him, side by side for a long time, He was a hard working individual, anything you needed, he done it with a smile, He didnt care who you are he took you under his wing, like he did with me. He is a very happy person, cared for his family and friends. I know drugs had nothing to do with it, unless slipped in his system somehow. Honey is a Great guy and i dont know what happened, but Honey is not that type of person. I will always remember the good times and wait for him to come back from this nightmare. And pray for him and his family. And to all you who have negative feedback, screw you all, you dont know the person I and the rest of us know. ONLY GOD CAN JUDGE!!!

ONLY GOD CAN JUDGE!!! again, a thank you to someone else who truly knows tristan. as for the person who wants to know if we have had to fight for life, until you walk a day in my shoes, don't judge me. You have know idea what, anyone had to go thru, how dare you... I am sure that everyone, like me, is praying for officer parsons and very glad he survived. But, you tell me, if he was so sure it was tristan, why are there 7 different descriptions of the shooter??? And I will quote from the San Jon PD, "I THINK I shot a cop" was verbatum what tristan had said...

When there are blue lights flashing from the patrol car how can you assume you shot a cop and not know that you shot a cop? And trust me Officer Parsons got a good look at him while he was standing over him shooting him! That was the first thing he told his daughter in the hospital that he could ID the person who shot him!

I personaly know this guy and I don't think its right how people who don't know him can say such mean and evil things. Yes, he was wrong for shooting the cop, but trust me the night that happened it wasn't the person I know. He is a really caring person, he would have never harmed anybody. This guy would give his last. I just think somebody put something in his drink the night at the cowboy. Trust me he would have never in his life try to kill a cop or even his worse enemy. He had a lot going for himself in life to just throw it away.

I agree with you, I think somebody put something in his drink. I was at the cowboy with him that night. He had only one drink that I can recall. I know my cousin and I left to go downtown and he text us at 12:15 and asked why we left. Sometimes I wonder if we had of gotten that text if he would've drove downtown instead.

I have worked with Honey and talked to him outside of work, and I can say that this is not like him. but you have to look at what he has done, If you shoot someone be it a cop or anyone else you need to do the time. I will not say he is a bad Guy. and yes people do make mistakes and learn from them. but Shooting someone in COLD BLOOD because you had your head up your ass is not the way to do things... This is how I look at it you do the crime you can bet your Sweet ass you will do the time. best friend and co-worker you are very Correct ONLY GOD CAN JUDGE.. But we can hold them in a small room till he does........

Yes we do know the person you know - he shot a police officer multiple times. No need for you to get so nasty, we all have a right to our own opinion, as do you. God isn't the only judge...hopefully there will be a jury trial to decide his fate.

Did "they/someone" also put an illegal weapon in his car, and then through mind control force him to shoot the cop? And what kind of drug would make a person shoot a cop? Your story is silly.

There are "mickys" out there that make you so delusional that you don't even know who you are, let alone what you are doing.

It really doesn't matter if drugs were involved or not or if he done drugs his self or if someone slipped them in his drinks. he shot the cop plain and simple now he will do the time for what he did! All you who say you know him, well he did do drugs at one point in his life and was supposed to be clean, but even reformed drug users can get back on the stuff without others knowing.

Do the drugs work like a GPS system? You people need to grow up this is not an episode of Monk, the guy screwed up and now he gets to pay whether he had a snoot full of drugs or not. He Goin Down!

Once he took that first drink and got back into his car where the gun was he bassically voided his concealed carry license. So the license would have been taken once he was stopped anyway. I also have a CCL and I would never go out drinking with a gun on me or in my car. And as far as the Mickys give me the name of a drug that would allow a person to drive their car but not be able to make a decision whether or not to shoot a cop.???????

Good one Mike, and exactly if he was so impaired that he didn't know he was shooting a cop then he would have never made it to New Mexico.. That's why he knew exactly what he was doing when he pulled out the gun and start shooting!

I can not believe there are people defending this man. He shot someone and then took off like a coward. It doesn't matter if it was a cop he shot or someone else, the fact remains he shot someone. He even said he thought he did. Why would he say that if he did not fire a gun in the direction of the officer? And he fired that weapon 8 times. He is lucky he didn't kill him because then it would be a death penalty case. Of course no one can believe he did this. No one could believe Ted Bundy was a serial killer either cause he "seemed so normal". I am sure there are reasons behind what he did but they do not warrant shooting anyone. Seemingly normal people snap everyday and do horrible things no one can believe they did. It doesn't excuse their behavior, it doesn't make it right. It may give some insight into the crime but it doesn't make it ok. If he was unaware of what he was doing why did he run? Then why did he turn himself in? If he was so unaware, how did he know he shot somebody?
