If it is determined that the Mayor acted foolishly in the way he fired Tedford and it winds up costing the city money, then I feel he needs to step down.

If it was Ken Edwards that was the Mayor now would you feel the same way WOW? I'm just curious. Looks to me like there's more double standards there.

I believe that's the same thing Sambo is saying. I just wish we could get someone in there that wasn't an embarrassment to Greenwood. Is that asking too much?

I'm not sure that we upgraded last time, I just hope we have the option of doing that next election. Is there not someone out there that's truly honest, and that has at least a modicum of leadership skills and common sense? Seems not....

Would the people of Greenwood, accept new blood into the office? someone not rooted to the old regime, or the new progressives, but to the core ideas of community leadership and living?
I believe there is a person out there that would want to be mayor not for the "power" but for the chance to make the community better...Would the old blood of this town support this type of person?

I think you people of Greenwood should keep your trash talk on the greenwood forum instead of trying to infect the Fort Smith forum. We are God fearing peaceable folk who donít look kindly on people of your kind.

Uh Lucas, why don't you look at the top of this page. It says Greenwood Forum.

That's what happens when someone tries to be a smart ass and just doesn't quite have the ability. They don't look very smart, just like an ass.

Has the Mayor gone out and harassed anyone? Slapped anything out of any citizensí hands that opposed him and what his agenda was?
Threatened not to provide the services that he had agreed to provide as a volunteer in said office?
Has the current Mayor been convicted of any offense under law? No?
Then if none of the above has happened, why would Mayor Gabbard resign if none of the past offenders in varying elected offices did?
Maybe I missed the point here. Just my way of thinking.

As a "Ken Hater" you are missing my point. It appears the mayor fired Tedford and Bryan based on a promise to his campaign supporters without educating himself on the proper way to do it. Had he just fired them without comment, he'd probably not be in trouble now, but it sounds like he made the mistake of running his mouth. He still acts like he doesn't really care for Greenwood. You never see him at events where the mayor should be seen supporting activities important to the town. I don't hate him, I just don't think he's a good mayor or leader.

We need a mayor who is a leader. This one knows nothing about being a leader, how to conduct a meeting, how to speak in public, or write a news article, or even write a recount of minutes. He does not have the respect of the employees, the department heads are doing his job. The council does not respect him. May be a good man but a terrible mayor. Who thought he would make a good mayor and put him up to running. He could have never come up with it on his own. Knows nothing about city government. Has to have Hamby advise him on everything and then doesn't take it.

The job description of the mayor's job in Greenwood is very liberal. The mayor is only required to be at the councel meetings once a month. He is also required to give the "state of the city" address. Outside of those 2 things he is not required to do anything else. Unlike the counsel he takes direction from the city attorney. There is zero evidence that he has gone against the attorneys opinion. Quit spotting the Edwards spin and learn how to pay attention.

He may not be required by state law to do anything but attend meetings and give the state of the city address but we expect him to be the head of the city. We expect him to be in charge, take charge and supervise "his people". We elect him to be the CEO of the city.
