Lawmakers debate smoking in cars, stowing handguns.

South Carolina lawmakers are considering separate bills today that would make it illegal to smoke in a car with a child, but allow handguns to be stowed under the seat.

I suppose Big Brother will tell me next that I can't smoke in my own home. I already can't smoke in bars (where you probably go to get all drunk up) and restaurants. Now I will not be able to smoke in my car or truck, but wait we need more tax dollars so let's raise cigarette taxes. Makes a lot of sense to me (NOT), but you friggin liberals go ahead. The very fundamentals of law says you should not cause injury or damage to others by your actions. Since second hand smoke has been proven to cause injury, you're doing just that to another person by smoking in their presence.
Your gun under the seat doesn't hurt anyone, but a lit cigarette with a child in the car does.

I have smoked all my life and have two grown healthy children that have never been in the hospital much less seen a doctor (except my daughter when she was pregnant)for a serious illness. Second hand smoke (SHS) has never been proven to cause injury to anyone. It is nothing more than a annoyance to the misguided and the uneducated under normal conditions, and a minor irritant to others under the most extreme conditions.

Lone Wolf, I live in NJ, yeah I know, anyway they have outlawed cell phones in cars,$100.00 plus fine. Not cigarettes yet, probably soon. I hunt pigs with Hugh and Whup at Deerfield every now and again, I like SC cause I can have a gun like all Americans should. Don't let the liberals take that away, fight it tooth and nail. Its already illegal to smoke with any minor under 18 in the car.
Its illegal to have the gun and the ammo in the same compartment
(ie, gun in trunk, ammo in passenger compartment)

Last week I witnessed these two liberal freaks getting out of their Lexus, and The banged their car doors into someone else's car and didnt have a care in the world, and as they walked by me They gave me the evil eye because I was smoking.
But did they bother to put a note on that persons car that they had just banged into? Oh hell no.
