These are the actions of a black man!!!!
AUBURN, Ala. The man accused of killing Auburn University freshman Lauren Burk and leaving her to die is due in court Monday at the same time a campus-wide memorial service is planned to honor the Georgia teen.

A preliminary hearing for murder suspect Courtney Lockhart, 23, is scheduled for 3 p.m. CDT (4 p.m. EDT), the district attorney's office told FOXNews.com the same time the service will be held for 18-year-old Burk.

Lockhart could face the death penalty if convicted.

Phenix City police arrested Lockhart on Friday and charged him with murder in Burk's death. He also is charged with kidnapping, robbery and attempted rape, although authorities say Burk was not sexually assaulted.

And your point would be?
Atrocious acts of violence are committed by all races and all social levels.
We will not be free of our racist roots until everyone stops pointing out how different we are from one another and start looking for ways we are the same.

The REDNECK SHOP should be closed immediately. Your part of our country has some of the most beautiful scenery and hospitable people anywhere, But, I would not want to come and visit your part of the world until that store which embodies hate is closed. To the city officials of Laurens, put the padlock on the door and begin that journey of understanding each other and end racism.

Mary Jo West, how far are you willing to take your requested censorship? I do not agree with the message that this shop may try to portray, but it is well within the rights granted to us by the Constitution.
I don't buy porn, but those shops have a right to sell their stuff. The fact that the shop is open is actually a testament to our Country's belief in Freedom of Speech.
Now a proper way to protest (and encourage the closing of the shop) is to voice your opinion... the padlock method will just stir up more trouble.

lastword, not sure what you mean? Killing is killing. When there are atrocious acts of violence, it is easy to say "they" did it. But the problem remains that there are representatives from every culture, race, religion, etc that have committed violence.
This isn't a case where one race is right and one is wrong. While the teachings of the "redneck shop" are wrong and vile, they are protected under the Bill of Rights.

Extremist are in all races, genders and beliefs. He should walk away and work on his own racist issues.

There are black African american shops out there as well, but I do not see him trying to shut them down. He just wants the property, and therefore is using the racist card to get it.

I apologize to everyone in this thread. I have a bit of an e-stalker. Baby Talk is making his rounds through any thread I have posted to and making his oh, so intelligent comments.
Did anyone else on this thread take my comments as being supportive of racism? LOL
Anyway, we can all take one look at Baby Talk's posts and see where his intelligence lies... he is sitting on it most of the time.

This sounds like something that needs to be settled by the legal system in Laurens, SC. I am very familiar with that area. My family hails from Greenville County. I live in Virginia. I have been to flea markets down there that sell those racist shirts. I don't have no problem with the shirts. Mr. Howard has a point. If you dont like it then dont go inside. I dont agree with his views but he has the right to sell those things and until the preacher can have him removed from the building, it looks like it will stay there. Mr. Howard needs to be glad that he is down in that part of the country, because if that was going on anywhere else, he would have been shot a long time ago.

From what I've gathered on the Redneck Shop is that the Reverend owns the building that the shop is in, BUT Mr. Howard gets to run his shop in the building until his death. Since the Rev owns the building he wanted to convert his legally-owned building into his church, BUT the Redneck Shop prevents him from doing so. So, as it stands now, the Redneck Shop is owned by Reverend Kennedy but will remain under the operations of John Howard until he dies.
According to the news story this is correct, and the Reverend knew this when he bought the building 1997 because Mr. Howard has been in business since 1996 and the Reverend has been protesting the business since 1996. I agree that any business that promotes hate, wheather by sell KKK robes and racist T-shirts or Malcolm X T-shirts should be closed but as long as the items for sale are legal then the Reverend has no legal right to try to close the store and just stirring up more hatard. Christ died for ALL and we each should respect the other and try to get along with each other. We should love the person but hate the sin.

It is not until we stop seeing the differences in each other and start seeing the similarities, hatred will continue.
