Obviously the _Pastor is offended by the merchandise sold in the store, but according to the article, the operator has a legal right to sell his wares.

There is absolutely nothing in our Constitution which protects us from being offended. That hoped for protection comes from the thought police, the politically correct patrols and various other Orwellian type groups.

Smut shops offend me but are still in business.

Muslim Mosques go against my grain, but the first Amendment protects them.

The sodomite agenda across this nation is very offensive, but the voting booth will settle some of those issues.

Bottom line, if we are suppose to be a multicultural nation (which ultimately will be impossible) then cease attempting to homogenize the population or thee consequence will be a Balkanization of this continent.

The Building owner has the right to say what comes and goes on his property.

Oh, so you support hate groups? I assume you do considering you distaste for mosques and the so-called sodomite agenda.

I have a distaste for jerks like you, but for some reason god keeps creating people like you.

Wonder what would happen if it was a white person trying to close a "Black Muslim" shop...he would be villified as racist. I don't see any difference in this case.

This is true unless there is an existing lease on the propery before the pastor took ownership of the building. In most cases, to avoid a lot of legal bruhaha, it's best to let the lease run it's course.

Bu we don't know the whole story here. Perhaps, he acquired the building solely in hopes to shut the business down?

Anyone who sells KKK garb is trash anyway.

Disagreeing with something or someone or disliking it does not constitute support for hate groups! Does your distaste for "jerks" mean you support hate groups? Get real!!

If there is a legal agreement that states he is allowed to keep the store open until he dies....then they must honor that agreement...I do not personally agree with the merchandise the store sells, or the culture it helps to fuel...but contracts are contracts, and need to be followed.

We must remember...the owners rights were transferred to this pastor. It doesn't seem like he bought the property. (so in all liklihoood the original honor wrote into the contract, that this person can keep his shop open until he dies). So i don't really want to hear, that this owner has the right to say what comes and goes. I own a property and have to adhere to the contract that we both signed, even if i don't totally agree with all terms and conditions in the contract.

Well, the store wouldn't be in business very long if the redneck white trash stopped buying that garbage. And that, says a lot about the south.

I'm just curious to what other items the business owner sells? I can't imagine anyone opening a Klan shop and thinking it would be successful.
The questions I would have is why do you wait 11 years to say anything about it? I think probably this guy was on the take, and now the store doesn't want to cut him in anymore and he's mad about it. If I was the church(notice the ownership was signed by he and the church) I would be looking to see what else our activist has got us invested with because something about this just don't sound right.

I suggest we elect Claire to County Commission. She sounds like she would fit well with Lumpy, Pinky and Ditzy DeFreese.

the sad thing is that now this has gotten publicity, more and more people are going to want to go that store just to see what it's about.

"if you don't like the way we live in the south, then why did you come here in the first place. if you don't like go back where ya come from.."

a) Why the heck is someone from OHIO speaking for people from the South anyway??

and b) Why is your name "Southern Pride"?

This shop is an embarrassment to the whole state. There is a small minority that still cling to this stuff, but by and large, most people see how ridiculous it is.

Unfortunately, as others have said, they have a right to run their business, however offensive it may be. I have lived here for over 20 years, and I love many aspects of this state, but this racist underbelly minority and "good ole boy" network are the exception.

The store does not actually sell that much merchandise locally. As the headquarters for the "National Socialist Movement", it is probably money from that group and others like it that keeps the shop open. It gets enough negative publicity to draw like-minded people to the organization. That is it's main purpose, to be a public face for these people so others can find them.

For those of you ragging on the South, please note that the "National Socialist Movement" is headquartered in Detroit, MI.

Why doesn't he just raise their monthly rent so high they can't afford to pay it? Eventually, they'll be forced to set up shop somewhere else.
