There is NOTHING to get away with here. She had every right to protect herself!! If this woman didn't have a gun, we would probably be reading about a rape or murder today. Good shooting girl!!

Get away with it? She did what she should have done. There's nothing to "get away with".

Are people so narrow minded or what?

Just because you see the word should doesn't at all imply that I thought the women would go to jail for it.

She should get away with it.

Read that again in a different frame of mind or over another cup of coffee, perhaps something will 'click'.

She should get away with it....aka....she should be fine.

Does that sort of logic compute?

I believe what Arial is referring to is:

"The sheriff says investigators will present their findings to prosecutors to see if any charges should be filed."

We all hope that they won't waste any money on charges. She does have this right.

More single women should own guns and learn how to use them for protection in their home.

This is really scary to find someone in your home.

Arial don't worry about them. I don't believe they bothered to read the article. See my other comment.

What if she had not had a weapon? If he was upto no good, she was lucky she managed to blow him away. It could have been the other way around just as easily. I started using an alarm system a long time ago. I don't ever want to come home and have someone waiting for me or the wife. They only run about $25. a month, and well worth it. If someone tries to get in while we are home that's where the "infringed" part of the second amendment comes in.

A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.
The last part: "the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.", says it all. Our founding fathers did not mean us to sit helpless, in our homes, places of worship or otherwise and be murdered.

Only thing wrong with this scene, she needs to spend more time on the firing range and get a higher caliber pistol.

"Shot him 3 times". It must not have been a full clip. I wish it said she shot him 10 times. Then when asked by police why she shot him 10 times her response could have been "that's all of the bullets I had".

No way she should be prosecuted! He got what he deserved. Hiding under her bed would make any woman think he was there to rape and/or kill her. She got what he deserved.

People that break into other peoples homes deserve to get killed, it saves the cost of an investigation and trial for these scumbags
