Is this the new restaurant on the corner of Thomas Ridge and 56? It's called Ridge(something) Inn? The Big Gray/Blue renovated house? I just moved to Laurelville in last month and have been telling my husband we need to go have some dinner and check the place out. Sounds interesting.....

When Old Town Diner in Laurelville, Ohio was called Hoovers the Pizza tasted way better (and they put it in a paper sack instead of a box)! Does anyone else agree? I wish it still tasted like that!

I lived in Laurelville during my entire childhood and was raised in the house across the street from this nursing home. I never heard any such story of it being haunted. The ridge in restaraunt is excellent and there was a vets home in laurelville out on 56 towards the "front" way to adelphi.

It is indeed the old nursing home. There is a group from Columbus who has a continueing investigation going on there. They say they haven't really had much lately since it has been worked on. Been here for over 25yrs and I think there's a few spots around town that are active.

this is for troy. i hope you are correct with your knowledge of living right across the street from the nursing home. have you ever been in it? i for one would be more than happy to give you a tour and just maybe you could help me understand all the strange things that go on here.the last one being how my granddaughter picked up "joshie" as she calls him up off the back floor christmas eve. she claims he was bloody and hurt and guess what troy, she now has a new friend that goes every where with her. she is 2 1/2 and has no clue what death even is.

My girlfriend and I were in the area recently and met the owner of the restaurant mentioned. It's The Ridge Inn, and the food is amazing. Their idea was to do a modern country kitchen, and they pulled it off well. As far as ghosts go, she mentioned that she had heard of hauntings, but didn't know that there were any so close to town. She also owns the house right next to the restaurant, and she has a TON of antiques for people to browse through.

Get ahold of Junior Schwalbach and family to find out the stories behind the Vet home that use to operate at edge of South Perry. He may have passed away, I'm not sure and if all else fails contact Bev Payne.

He did live across the street, I also have lived in this town for 40 years and have never once heard of any hauntings at the nursing home. I have been in it, I worked there in 1987-88. The resident that they were talking about in an earlier post was Dmytro Lopuschansky, and he did speak in another language and also alot of English, however he could be somewhat hard to understand. He never wandered nowhere except for the fenced in yard and within the building. How he got to Laurelville was through the mental inst. that was in Athens, he wasn't mental though from what I understand he was a POW and that was where he ended up, until they took him in at Laurelville. I remember nothing about a daughter that put him there, he did say that he had a brother in Michigan, but nobody ever came to visit. Maybe whatever spirit that your daughter is seeing has came here with you? I not sure about the bloody deal though, kids do have huge imaginations, who's the new friend, does he have a name?

Good luck getting ahold of Junior Schwalbach. He is no longer alive. As for the headless man on the flag pole, I have lived in Laurelville my entire life. I go past the flag pole at least two time a day including the night and have never seen a headless anything in or near the posey pot. As for the nursing home I have never been in there but walking past it is creepy.

ok talking about ghosts in laurelville. i was out the other day looking at sheriff sale properties, the one house I looked at gave me and my son the creeps from the moment we stepped on the porch. My son could not get this off his mind so last night he did a search on the property and found that last year a woman was killed by her husband and then he tried to commit suicide. I don't want to give the name out of the road but it is on hocking county sheriff sale listings. has anyone else been out there and if so did anyone else get the same feelings.

The old nursing home is now a residence and there are no plans as of right now to make it into anything of business. The woman who previously lived there started conflict in laurelville. she is no longer here. As for the ghosts.... find out for yourself (=

Hey Jordan,
What is up with you still talking your crap on me???..You got cocky with me because I would not let you ghost hunt in the building..U even emailed ppl that forwarded your emails to me.. I really tried to be nice to you. I started NO conflict in Laurelville..I have your emails still that u sent me..Would you like me to post them on here??? Bottom line is I left laurelville because it was way to creepy to continue to live in the house. You know that, you guys were their many times.I still come to Laurelville a few times a month...So if your going to post your trash about me..At least tell the truth!!!!

The Nursing home is my best friends house now. There is NO plans to make it into any business. The woman who had the ghost hunters in there doesn't live there anymore. She talked badly about Laurelville and people in it. Shes a little lady with a big mouth. The people who live there now aren't affiliated with her.

Could you please describe the house some? Or maybe even the name of the street it is on? I'm asking because I recently moved to Laurelville and have been searching for any history I can find on my home. I'm not having much luck though. This house has a creepy feel to it. I'm very interested in any History about this house, and Laurelville itself. I find the ghost stories very interesting!!
