This place closed its doors almost 30 years ago. Why is there an article about it now?

It was a pedophile's dream, and it drew them; while I lived there I saw many acts of brutality and much neglect. I personally had to fight off Mr. Rosen, a houseparent trying to hold me down to molest me, and though he beat me up badly, I fought like my life depended on it and he stopped his attack. I was only eleven years old. The superintendent, Mr. Picarelli, seeing my brusied face, believed me and fired him, but with a recommendation to another facility where he would be working with other children. The Director, Dr. Breakstone, once backfisted a kid next to me in the backseat of his car square in the mouth. The kid was saying something he didn't like and he was already teed-off because he had been searching for us after we went on an unauthorized swim in a nearby dam. The home, as we called it, was hell. Rape amoung the children, too, was frequent, as were beatings adminstered to smaller kids by the sixteen year old kids in the "D" Wing. It's been thirty-nine years since then but I remember it well, and during my stay there its prior mission was lost to time, and all it had become was another place of abuse and neglect for abused and neglected children, who, ironically, like me, were used to such treatment before they arrived and in this way felt strangely at home.

Well Well as per what Rich Zea said some of it I did see I also was at the Home for 4 yrs when I 1st when there they had one unit for Girls which for reason you can think of was closed down a year later the girls where moved to some other home and the unit was turned in to another boys unit. I know Mr Picarelli who use to always have hid cigar but I can say he always treated the kids nice he set up a point system by the week no point or slips in a week we'd go to the drive in movies every Friday night. Some of the abuse I did see as to any Rape amoung the other kids I did not see but I was molested by one of the house parent women often who worked the night shft she use to come in my room late wake me by touching and kissing also use to let me go in the room they use to use at night to hage watching TV.

Sick and Tired....

I felt Clementon was a nice area when we moved here five years ago... Imagine a drug dealer in your neighborhood (Heroin) who just started a prostitution ring....what a treat
