Maggie,
Funny you should mention the hot dogs at Grants. A friend & myself were just talking about how great they were, it was definitely the rolls, yum. I remember the old Acme, where Produce Junction is now, got caught shoplifting candy there when I was about 8 or 9. What's your last name & how old.

Hi Jack, Where is your cousin now? Does she still live in NJ? Do you remember any of the names I mentioned? My mom June worked in the park at the first aid station under the ballroom. I lost my mom in 68 , a few months I was on Face Book and found a picture of my mom that was taken in 1964 of the park personnel that was cool. My husband was able to use that and get a print of it for me which now hangs on my wall. What memories seeing that picture brought back. I lived in Clementon Pine Hill area from birth till 64 when I married and moved to PA. Was back in NJ from from about 67 till I met my second husband and moved to Fl. in 83 and been here since. I was up in NJ in 2012 for overbrook 50th high school reunion. What a blast seeing some of the people you went to elementary school with. We should get people from Clementon and surrounding areas reunion together, that would be so cool. Well Jack guess I chewed your ears off so I close for now. Good reminiscing with you. Ask Maryann if you talk to her if she remembers any of my family, it would be cool to talk to someone who does. Take care ,and remember the good old days, nothing like them

Does anybody remember the roller skating rink that almost everybody called "Watsontown Skating Rink"? Its real name was White Horse Skating Rink. I spent many a Saturday or Sunday there as a child, and many a Friday or Saturday night as a teen. Then, someone burned it down in 1971.

Used to go to the Watsontown Skating Rink every week and had a lot of fun there. I went with friends and sometimes my Uncle would be there. Boy did he have some fancy footwork.

Hi Kathy,
I remember you and your sister's name but I just can't picture either of you but if you hung around the Triangle then we defiantly knew each other back in the day.

Are you the Jack Buzby who lived on Watson Blvd.? If so, we have you as a boy in our home movies. You used to play with my brother, Jim Kurtz.

Wow these were great memories. Just found this blog site at the recommendation of a former Overbrook classmate. He told me I should right something so here I go.
I grew up in Clementon since I was 5 years old. It seems that many here have memories of Pete's Cigar Store & Sid's Appliance Company. I lived right next to Pete's - because he was my step father. Sid Waters owned an appliance company and a jewelry store - and at one time also had a luncheonette. Sid was my uncle - my mom's brother-in-law. My step-dad Pete passed away over 15 years ago and my uncle Sid passed away about 7-8 years ago. His wife Angela (Angie), my aunt, is still alive and lives with my cousin Steve (her son). She turned 95 this past June. I also remember the fun times at the park - hanging out in the haunted house (in the crooked room), riding the flying saucer and taking the wing control to make the plane jerk, throwing up after riding the salt & pepper shaker and never going on it again. Also remember the awesome times at the Clementon Park dances - I just loved to dance (still do). Used to go to downtown Clementon movies which was 25 cents for admission (unbelievable, huh). Me and my friends or cousin used to let Mike Young in through the side door all the time (no security). Also hanging out at the Triangle luncheonette were fun memories. Watsontown Skating Rink was another one of my hangouts. Was a sad day when the rink burned down (with 2 pairs of my skates). I loved to skate throughout most of my years until I crushed my wrist in a skating collision with another skater back in 1989 (it's fine now, Praise God). My son has taken over my passion for skating. He is now 30 years old and has been skating since he was 9 years old competitively. He is a world class skater (with his wife) and they are going to Taiwan this November to skate the World's Artistic Roller Skating competition. Have a daughter too (now 32)- didn't want to leave her out - she skated competitively also from 11 yrs. old until she began college at 18.
God bless you all who visit this site. Sharing memories is a good thing!
