It is a beautiful facility, however, the left hand does not know what the right hand is doing. You must continually stay after the staff to follow through on "promises" of items or services.
The physical therapy staff is wonderful and very dedicated.
The director or administrator is difficult to find or discuss concerns with.

My concerns for a loved one being a patient are great-depending on the needs that your loved one requires, it is always advisable to have a family or friend available at all times to make sure they are getting their room cleaned or blankets they wanted or getting the patient back to their room.

Food is okay when it is delivered to the patients room. My loved ones tray sat for 45 minutes on the cart until I personally delivered it. The process of a family member purchasing food is a timely issue. Not only are no signs posted for the process of purchasing your food, but when you need to go to the receptionist to pay for your food it is another 4-6 minute delay. Credit cards only taken-but the machine offers debit or credit so more confusing issues. Once again it is a trail and error process-no information supplied, no welcome booklet and no one knows how to smile once you are at a nurse station.

I am looking forward to a speedy recovery for my loved one because this facility needs a good quality customer care representative to get this place running like a "well oiled machine"

Would I recommend this facility??????? Absolutely NOT!!!!

Powerback Voorhees New Jersey is a beautiful facility.
Don't let the beauty fool you! Beware! Stay away!!
They have No idea what they are doing. Not one of them, their Social Worker has absolutely no clue, she needs to go back to training for Medicare rules etc.
The Administrator Jeff Solarz could care less about the patents. He hides from them and is a total disgrace an totally unprofessional! he has his head nurse Patty Melora cover for him!,
They messed up my mothers medication for 13 days and took no ownership!,
Genesis as a Company should be investigated! The company is run like crap.
The only care about charging the government. They lie the have no electronic anything in voorhees PB! They keep all their patients files hand written on white 3 ring binders!
I wouldn't sent my worst enemy there.
I wrote letters, emailed, called, not one person from corporate had the curtesy one er return an email to me!

My grandmother was at Powerback voorhees. The beauty does not hide the total dysfunction of the facility.
I am requesting a complete investigation.
They are totally unprofessionally.
They only care to take your insurance, they never washed my grandmother for 21 days, they only wiped her down, her hair was dry and brittle and skin horrible, they missed doses of her medication and then had her quickly transferred out to another facility when we brought up a few problems.

Run, don't walk away from this nightmare facility!!
It needs to be closed down and the entire Genesis company needs to be investigated for their unprofessionalism!
Do NOT put your loved one in their hands!

i was an aide here at power back rehabilitation and I firmly agree with you the administration sucks however the nursing department housekeeping and bistro does not. 90 percent of the issues come from the administration. I can honestly say working here has been one of the worst experiences of my life however the patients are the greatest.

This rehab needs to be investigated. My sister in law was admitted here and they mismanaged her care.
Thank goodness I am a health care professional and I was her advocate as she was not able to speak for herself. The right hand does not know what the left hand is doing in this place. The Nurse Practioner on the weekend was unwilling to look at my sister in laws chart/assess her to see what was the problem and she was down right rude. It took four phone calls, seven visits and finally a meeting with the patient care coordinator and DON to get her back into Jefferson hospital. Please be aware of this place and if possible go somewhere else.

I got my PowerBack! I had spent a total of 6 weeks at PowerBack Voorhees on two separate occasions, for two different ailments. I can't say enough about the medical and rehabilitative care I received. I am back up on my feet and back to work full-time. The staff was excellent, the food was fantastic and I would recommend PowerBack Voorhees to anyone needing post-hospital rehabilitation.

My dad was at PowerBack Voorhees after being in the hospital. If it was not for the great nursing staff dad would not be able to be as independent as he was before. Thank you PowerBack Staff. I AM telling all my family and friends.

This facility is truly amazing. Everyone treated me with respect and I was able to get my power back within a couple of weeks. I have done rehab at many different places and not only were the nurses and physical therapists great, but the food was amazing.

In response to the above comment all of the above could be true but the fact that you are saying patients files are hand written and put in a three binder that is absolute untrue.

Unless you cam take care of your own needs, or have a family member do it for you, such as, feeding, knowing the correct medication to receive, make needed appointments, your on your own. Most staff way to busy to give the attention guest deserve. The staff REALLY does care. But everyone is stretched so thin, and new, it's the blind leading the blind Do the math I have seen the nurses have 16 patients, how can they follow up with all these very sick patients, seems they have bitten off more then they can chew, Jeff wants profits at any cost. The staff really do try hard, we are told no is never an option, they stay way past their shifts, and give ALL they can, buyer beware.

It is true, this is a very corporate business and the administration only cares about money. So much so that that seems to be the biggest topic among the staff. Sure, there are plenty of staff members that truly care about their patients and wish they could give the best care they could! Yet, it is nearly impossible to give one on one care to 15 patients and as many as 13 admissions in one day. The staff nurses not only manage wounds, medicine and charting their patients' progress.. They also have to take on the admission and discharge process, keep tabs on where each patient is, deal with demanding family members (as they should be), make sure the patients had eaten, and with barely any help from any real supervisor/clinical director. The nursing staff including cna's is run very thin all because they are trying to fill the building and make up for what money they lost in building the place. In fact, even new nurse that are still in training have to take on a whole or sometimes half and assignment without their trainer due to short staff. And don't mention "short staff" aloud here! That's considered abuse and is grounds for being fired whether or not the employee has ever caused the company to be short staffed ever. Hipaa laws are constantly breeched with the "recreation" department asking every patients' business and pretending to be social workers and psychologists to the patient. Yes, files are kept in a 3 ring binder but not handwritten, they are typed. But this is a very old fashioned company because nothing is kept in online files. This acute rehab company is run under long-term care provisions which is how they make their money. However, it is not used for the building because staff members are constantly cut back and even laundry is not being done as routinely as from the opening days. There isn't a single wash cloth to be found in the morning shift to help clean patients! I must say that all this aside, the rehab therapists are wonderful! They truly make this place live up to what it was built for! Many patients have walked out of there with a new found energy and inspiration to stay strong. I've seen people at their worst and it amazes me how thankful they are and strong they become. So, powerback is a truly confused entity run by even more clueless administrative staff that like to throw new rules at every corner. However, if you are willing to advocate for yourself or your family member constantly then it can be a rewarding one! Unfortunately, that's what happens when the government pays for your healthcare...

My loved one is currently staying at PowerBack in Lutherville, MD. Two weeks in and I hadn't heard from a social worker or anyone. The care is substandard. The PT and OT is a waste of time and woefully insufficient. The food is horrible. I can't wait to get my loved one out of there. The departments don't talk to each other, the nurses are OK, but the aides couldn't care less. It was a wonderful facility before Genesis destroyed it.
