Coming from Laurel, go out past the bridge take Laurel road(it curves)go a little ways past Haspin it is on the right hand side up on the hill, unless you are looking for it you probably wouldnt notice it. The head stones are still there but hard to see because of the trees and it is up so high.

Neal was really made this old cemetery look good with a American flag waiving with a big white cross and the words on the cross says The Mount

I have been to St.Raphaels cem.it is on laurel road where I stated, there is a sign that says St.ralphaels,it is old but still in good enough shape to read,I had to walk up there from the road to take pictures of it, however there is a cemetery where the other stated, I do not know the name of it and I do beleive it is on the Kitchens property.Perhaps it may be another catholic cemetery or another division of the cemetery I stated.

I'm looking for the grave of Frank X. Wagner and family...he immigrated from Germany to Laurel in the 1800's. He was buried at St. Raphael's in 1914, so I would say he is in the older cem. you speak of. Do you have your pictures posted here? I sure would love a sneak peek. Thank you

I didn't know there was a cemetery out on Laurel Rd. Whose property is it on? Do you know if there is a Johnathan James buried there?

From the Atlas of Franklin Co., Indiana 1882. Page 55. Map of the Town of Laurel, Indiana clearly shows the location of the Catholic Cemetery and also the Catholic Church.

It is directly up the hill, on the left, from the High School.

No, that is not where St. Raphael Cemetery is located. It is just straight above the high school on the hill, in town. Not at all far. There is more information about the St. Raphael Church, it's members, and the Cemetery, who is buried there, at the Laurel Library.

I do remember the Church being in the baseball field, next to Miss Shera's house, when I was young. I also remember when it burned down.
