A long meeting this evening. Very technical information being discussed. Glad to report council members have been able to stay awake. The Mayor was highly entertained when a nameplate was knocked off of the counter onto the floor. I am thinking it was highly polished and therefore caught his eye. More news to come...

The city just saved $7 million over 25 years. It wasn't that technical. It's a great deal for the City of Connersville. I know you think Harold is stupid, but he's sharper than you give him credit for. This whole energy savings concept was his idea.

It's a theory. Many things can happen in 25 years in this county.

Just like wind turbines lasting 30 years. They will believe anything when free money is involved.

You don't understand how energy or the sun works. Even if the price of energy goes up, the loan does not and the savings would actually be greater. The guarantee is that a system will produce "X" of kilowatt hours annually. Regardless of price in front of a meter a kilowatt is a kilowatt. If a Kw cost more the savings would be greater. The fixed loan will cost the same for 20 years. The guarantee isn't a dollar figure but an energy output. The savings is calculated based on current rates adjusted for inflation. If the cost per kilowatt hour increases it has zero effect on the solar energy savings (the sun isn't going away) these are 100% no brainer deals. I don't know a single school system or municipality that has ever had a problem with a savings contract. If it doesn't perform based on the contract terms PSG pays the difference.

And if the City witches to LED lighting instead of the outdated and more costly fluorescent
the city could save quite a bit and of course if they do as Republican Ronald Reagan said and turn the thermostats to 68 degrees in the winter the cost savings would be enormous

Perhaps the city should pass an ordinance stating that the thermostats be set no higher than 68 degrees and the department chiefs be held accountable and fined for any /every infraction
There ARE other ways to save than spending $400,000 to PSG
Our City Officials need to start using what few brain cells they have instead of spending to save

the roof on city hall is not strong enough to hold solar collectors
City Council all voted to throw $4 million out the window without doing any research on the city buildings roof
when the roofs cave in I for one will laugh at Harold and moron city council
and the roofs will cost $20 million to repair/replace
Remember this was all Harold's idea
Harold should pay out of his own pocket if the roofs come crashing down
HARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR !!

Most poor/ middle class people already do this (thermostat settings)! It will be the people like Reagan,Trump,Harold,Clintons,a nd the elite that abuse it . They don't worry about saving energy, recycling,or saving our planet! It's just another day at the office for them!

There has been no oversight concerning this waste and abuse of tax dollars
there needs to be an official policy in place

Oh boy, I have learned very much in this forum about the county rated 3rd. in unemployment in the state. We lost that number one ranking.

Ps. The sun comes up then it goes down. When it is down, solar panels don't work and when the wind doesn't blow the blades don't turn. Then they turn on the gas and coal power or hydro.

HUSH your mouth !!
don't tell Harold that !!!
Solar panels in a tornado prone area is a wonderful idea ,at least according to Harold and council
who passed it on first meeting no discussion

DID YOU KNOW ?
Just using ONE light bulb instead of two in each fluorescent light unit would cut the light bill in half

Harold does NOT want to save money, he just wants people to believe he is doing something

Harold wants to hire a private contractor to paint railroad tracks on the sidewalks
How about using the money to repair sidewalks ?
If I want the sidewalks painted with Flowers leading to the flower shop, is Harold going to approve that also ?
How about paint tow trucks on sidewalks that lead to the several tow truck companies ?
Or how about pizza slices ? barber shears ? broken arm for indy's ?
This sets a precedence for every business to have advertisements on the sidewalks
