If this guy was a colored person it would be ATTEMPTED MURDER charges, plus some more BS made up charges to go with it. LOL this is some double standard justice here.

If he was really attempting to kill the person, he wouldn't have used a .22

They just gave him a pass to flee. He knew he had fired the shot, did they really think he would just sit and wait for them?

Yeah just imagine if this guy was a colored person, especially Hmong. People would be wringing for his neck. But since he's white the're going easy on him--second degree assault--what a joke.

If he were a man of color, he wouldn't have gotten out of jail in the first place. If the kid he shot was a kid of color he wouldn't have made it to jail.

Since both are people of no color, one got a get of jail free card. Wonder how long, if ever, he will be caught and sent to jail.

This Guy was let loose thanks to our Liberal Judges! St Paul Police wanted to keep him locked up. This Guy was also a Campaign rep for St Paul Mayor Chris Coleman. The Police had to let Him Go or else.....

You sir are an idiot. It doesn't take a .45 to kill someone. This kid was extremely close to losing his life. Thank god the gentleman who is the Iraq war veteran was there to take action and save this boys life. And don't start the "I grew up with firearms" defense to this because if you have, like myself and many other people on this board have you would respect the fact that any firearm you pull the trigger on has the power to take someones life.

Second degree assault seems to have too broad a description. If he had shot at him and missed they could still call it second degree assault. Anyone who shoots at someone and connects should be charged with attempted murder or something more carrying a heavier penalty. Getting in a fist fight and injuring someone could be second degree assault.

Can't you morons get together and simply agree that the shooter is a bad guy and stop imputing his behavior and his motives to race? Does everything have to be reduced to race?

Gunnar, hang in there. Our prayers are with you for a full recovery and many more chances to celebrate the Fourth safely. You don't deserve what happened to you. A whole city is pulling for you and your family. Hopefully the sick man who pulled the trigger will be brought to justice and made to pay for his actions.
