Long Island driver sentenced in doctor's death

A 20-year-old man has been sentenced to three to nine years in prison for the hit-and-run death of a doctor on Long Island.

Nassau County District Attorney Kathleen Rice said Mayer Sadian (MY'-er SAY'-dee-un), of Roslyn Heights, was convicted of criminally negligent homicide and leaving the scene of an accident in November.

Sadian was sentenced on Monday by a Nassau County judge.

Dr. Jeffrey Siegel, a 48-year-old pulmonary specialist from Old Westbury, was killed on July 6, 2007, by a speeding car while crossing a street in Roslyn Heights.

Mayer was a good driver. He could do the quarter mile down Mineola Avenue in 10 seconds. The Nassau police are racist. My son deserves better. As a result, I am going to offer to rent womb to any single man in Nassau County for $5 a pop. I want to set an example for the rest of the Sadian family, and for Mayer's four children.

Poor kid. I hope mayer Sadian goes free. He is an innocent jewish boy at the wrong place at the wrong time. By him being in jail it wont bring back the doctor. I hope he goes free.

innocent? really? are you high? doing 100 down mineola blvd is a crime in and of itself, and throw on the fact that he killed someone in the process.

You can't put a price on stupidity. This cementhead was negligent and careless, and now Dr.Siegel's wife and children lave lost him forever. He got off WAY TOO EASY!!!

people should know who is really responsible for the death of the Doctor .
to know the truth you only have to look at the corruption in Town of North Hempstead , the restaurant the doctor was crossing the street to get to was given a variance to oporate at 200 people capacity ,without a single parking space . this was granted , given the fact that another restaurant next door already was oporating a 100 or so capacity without a single parking space . so all the people going to these two restaurants have to cross the street to get there.
the variance was given to the chicken kabob restaurant because the owner of the property is a connected rich real-estate guy with the name of weinberger who happened to pay off the then supervisor Newbergur, so the variance was granted to the restaurant, without regards to the safety of the people . dirty politics does not only hurt us all financially , it also destroys lives ,

In this case I would say who ever gave the permit to OK this restaurant, whatever dept heads in the Town of North Hempstead.
