Whitney driver charged in fatal DUI
Family Member of Rick

With Monday's hearing quickly approaching, I am sick to my stomach knowing that Lisa Fannon is still out living her life, as though her inexcusable actions did not take a life. She has been seen obviously drunk in several local bars, so what did she really learn from the dui / vehicular homicide which took a life? A life of a productive member of society (unlike Lisa Fannon), a member of my family! I can only hope that justice is served swiftly, and to the fullest extent of the law. I can only take comfort in knowing that after her prison time is served, she will still have to face karma, and in her case, I believe it will be much harsher than any punishment the penal system can deliver.

Some of the vindictive posts about Lisa reflect anger and grief of those who knew the person killed. Bad-mouthing her for being drunk in bars (if true) is an understandable knee-jerk reaction. But getting drunk is more of an indication of her deeper-rooted problem of alcohol dependency. Such a person would resort to this behavior because it is where escape from reality and comfort is found. I would think it more of a coping mechanism than disrespect or belligerence. And to put it all in perspective the person killed was guilty of the same behavior of getting intoxicated. It might just as easily been him driving that night and the situation reversed. And just as the victim has loving parents who grieve for him so too does Lisa. Her parents are living with the same death on their conscience and the prospect of a child who needs help but will have to find it in a prison. There are a lot of stones being thrown in glass houses regarding this incident. A lot of people are going through their own hell because of it. Karma, or whatever, is here already.

Lisa and my daughter went to a church group together when they were teens, obviously she lost her way a few years ago. I would like to help this young woman put her ills behind her and find her way back to god's embrace. Does anyone know where she's living, I tried looking for her locally, but haven't been able to locate her. The Lisa I know will make this right. Forgiveness lies within.

I agree it's absurd she is allowed to be free. Let her continue to drink and do drugs. Our legal system is a joke.

why would we go to her hearing when I know for a fact her probation officer knows she is still drinking and doing drugs and has done nothing about it? If her own probation officer does nothing, what can we do? Another part of our legal system that is a joke....just as she was on house arrest (not to leave the house let alone drink) when the accident occurred....her probation officer should lose his job, allowing criminals to continue to break the law

it's about time they did the right thing and put this woman in jail. I just hope when her court date comes up for killing Rick she gets the maximum time allowed under the law. This girl just thinks she is above the law for anything she does she has no respect for anything or anyone.
