Who had good times at freeman falls in the 60's and 70's ? And have you seen it lately ?

We use to swim there in the 80's. I go by there all the time but I don't think it is damed up anymore. If I remember correctly it was a moveable metal dam that could by raised and lower. It is possibly became a liability issue?

It's a shame, but "The Preacher" is somehow in charge of the dam and wanted all the neighbors to pay $100 each for "maintainance" or he wouldn't close the gate.Hell,I could do the maintainance myself with a wire brush and a $8.00 tub of grease

If you are standing on the bridge facing the dam who owns it..the big house to the right up on the hill or the house to the left of the parking area? The last time I was thru the house to the right is for sale again.

No one "owns" it.George Pollack lives in the house for sale,Evelyn Waugaman on the left."The Preacher" (I don't kmow his name) lives behind Evelyn...and somehow he became "The Keeper of the Dam".

Ok I get it now. Never understood how one person claimed ownership of the whole place. It is a shame that people have to fight about such petty stuff then no one can use or enjoy it. Had some great times there when I was younger.

Wow, that's 25-miles from Latrobe. People went all the way out there? We always used to go to Linn Run in Ligonier, about 12-miles from Latrobe.

I got 16 miles from where I am in Latrobe. I didnt grow up in Latrobe but in Unity. Our house was near the Mt Pleasant township border so I had many friends from there as well. Plus my dad was from Stahlstown so I was always on the ridge anyway. Flatrock was cool too.
