When I hear the fire whistle blow I feel a great respect for the volunteers that are responding and feel great sadness for those who it is sounding for.
Is the whistle really disrupting your life now?

Almost accurate.
It does NOT blow only when all companies are responding. It can be a partial response out of town where sometimes it does and sometimes it doesn't. More accurately in being friends with a few VFD members it blows when a truck leaves central station with most likely only a driver. The whistle is to alert others to please provide chase and support the under-crewed truck. Other stations wait for a driver & crew to arrive and therefore dont get a whistle. Living on the edge of Latrobe and Unity, I believe this statement to be slightly more accurate.

You seem educated enough to provide clarification or rebuttal.

SH!T CAN THEM NO NEED FOR IT

PA law provides no special rules to emergency responders, blue light wackers if you will. Blue lights mearly advertise "I'm a fireman on my way to a something". It doesnt give them the right to speed, pass, run stop signs, run red lights or much else. Draws attention which can only turn bad.

That was New Alex VFD. who had their blue lights taken away, due to the one kid crashing his truck on the way to a call.

Seeing this was posted on the 2nd which was the first Saturday of the month. You got to enjoy all the test sirens. You know the disaster drill whistle and the tornado warning. One long siren, not the normal up and down. If you hear that during a storm you better get to the basement.

2 weeks from now at 12 noon you'll get the chance to hear it again. Not the center of excitement for me but hey to each his own I guess.
