What fantasy land are you living in? Marflak has done nothing for this City. He's a lame duck. I'm still waiting for all these ideas that he has for the City. Oh wait, he'll just say that Council keeps him from doing what he wants for Latrobe, yet he hasn't really brought any ideas to Council, has he?

Tom does the best he can, Out council does everything they can to destroy anything good Tom tries to do yet we elect these again and again. Latrobe will only change when we get rid of likes of Rosie Wolford and a few of the others.

You all sit here and say how he what to do this and he wants to do that... but you talk in generalities... give me an example of what "Tom" wants to do.... No vague notions... something concrete that he has come out and said he wants to see happen in Latrobe? He couldn't even be bothered to try to help our city manager with the budget... it took two council members who took time out of their days to help with that. And then when questioned about creating a finance committee, he said he wasn't able to under the charter, which was wrong. He's the mayor, he should know these things.

Doesn't the city manager get paid to do the budget? if they aren't able to do the job we pay them to do then it's time to get a new city manager.

I'm still waiting to hear from someone about what the Mayor has wanted to do for the City. And, yes, the City Manager gets paid to do the budget. If you went to council meetings, you would know that he originally had a budget that included a tax rate hike. After hearing complaints from citizens, two council members took it upon themselves to look over the budget with our City Manager and see where corners could be cut. The Mayor did nothing... so, again I ask, what has he done or wanted to do for the City?

First of all, I'm not throwing stones. I'm merely asking a question of those that are casting stones at council members, specific members at that. Secondly, I keep hearing how the council is keeping him from doing the things he wants for this City, yet no one elaborates on what it is he wants to do for the City. Lastly, it's you're (contraction of you and are). Your is a possessive pronoun.

I'm with Sandra on this one and its funny that if someone questions what hizzoner has done for Latrobe it's met with your kind of comments. Why doesn't someone just answer the lady's question?

In response to Joan, other than the fact that he hasn't brought any new ideas to the table since being sworn in, spent hundreds of taxpayer dollars on where Neal lived (even though he knew where he lived because he had sent a registered letter to him) and the fact that he was willing to sit on his butt and let the taxes in Latrobe be raised for the first time since the 1990s... what has he done? I've answered your question, now someone answer Sandra's question, it's a legit question.

Everything has gone up gas being on eof the biggest and you think taxes were going to stay what they were in 1990? Remember Latrobe steele took the city to court got there taxes lowered and someone had to make that up. Now the brewery is taking latrobe to court to lower there taxes too. You can bet your see another tax increase if the Brewery wins that case. Just remeber it took more that Tom to raise those taxes he doesn't have the power to do it on his own.

Larry, let me answer the first question. The Mayor sought out the opinion of the solicitor to find out what can be done, legally, to find out where Neal lived. That bill was a matter of public record, people spoke about it at the council meetings and the newspaper even had a quote from one of the citizens that had looked over the bill that the solicitor gave to the city. This is all public knowledge. As far as the taxes going up, they didn't go up did they? You know why? It wasn't the Mayor sitting down to go over the budget line by line with the city manager to figure it out. If you read the newspaper and attend council meetings, you would know that it was two councilmembers that took the time to look over the numbers and figure out a way. It's also a matter of public record that the mayor has voted no to a motion to send the solicitor to defend a tax assessment appeal. I'm not sure if it was the brewery appeal or a different appeal, but he voted no nonetheless. And I'm pretty sure that Shane didn't say it was the mayor that raised taxes.

Clearly Tom Marflak is the best Mayor latrobe has ever had. It's a real shame council can't stand behind him and do the right thing.

It's obvious that no one can give specifics about why the mayor is one of the best mayors because he hasn't done anything and don't feed me some cock and bull story about the council not allowing him. He hasn't tried.
