Most of the bikers that I know are nice, hard working, law abiding people. They look foward to going out for a ride on a sunny day stopping along the way to meet old friends and maybe make a few new ones. They usually have lots of disposable income and are a great boost to the local bars and restaurants.

I agree Unity. There are a few of the scumbag bikers. But, for the most part those of us who do ride are professionals, I myself am a nurse. I know alot MDs I work with also ride on Sundays. Alot of my friends ride as well, including teachers, attorneys, realtors, and alot of guys from Latrobe Steel. My husband and I, and our friends for that matter, would love to come to the Hollow on a sunday or two....just so long as its not called "biker crud sunday", because 'crud' we are NOT!!! Looking forward to a nice ride and a cold one at your place Fred!!!

I couldn't have said it better than what Unity Transplant and Hmm stated!

Hmm..yep, lots of us professional types love to ride. Hubby and I were just talking last night how the weather will be changing soon and how sad it will be to put the bike away for the Winter. But we'll be out in full force again in the Spring, and hopefully we'll be pulling into the Hollow Tavern for a cold one or two : ) I used to love to do the Sunday bar tour but after the Hollow burnt and Tree Tops was toppled the Sunday bar tour just isn't the same.

I couldn't let this pass without saying that I'm in health care too and hubby is a general contractor so I don't think that makes us biker crud either :) Fred, you really need to consider a bike night/day once you open. All of our friends ride too and we'd be sure to be there!

To all that have interest,
The building is coming along great. While it may seem no visuals have taken place since the gables have been put in place, lots is in process. Much framing has and is being put in place on the underside and main floor. I am in hopes, schedule allowing, to start on the rafters of the main roof later in this week. Obviously alot happens when I am there. I still need to be able to pay for it though and work here in New York allows me to do so. I must say that I am still amazed and disapointed with the hurdles and road blocks that I must go through. None of which are brought about by the local municipalities and State of Pa. They are great and very pro active for the rebirth of this landmark. I will not comment further unless I feel the need later on. "Progress" depends on proper cooperation and savory business practices by affiliated groups. I did not take this project on for a financial gain, but only to let a wonderfull landmark remain for all to enjoy. Please feel free to stop by and say hello when you see my black truck there. I can't sell you a cold beer but would be more than happy to have a cold one with you, after regular working hours that is. Actually, I don't know what regular working hours are there as that is all I do when I am there. Still looking for any pics or vids of the place while in operation. One more thing, I had a visitor stop by on his bike, it broke down and I assisted him, said he ran the outside bar and that he would return the grill that he took from the place, still waiting for the grill, I'll feed you when the grill shows up! Hopefully he is a man of his word. Talk soon, Fred |

To the loser crackhead that stole my tent gazebo! May your hands be burned to pulp when lighting your glass pipe and severe bodily harm be done to your geinitals so this earth does not have to deal with any of your worthless inbred offspring!!
Sorry, just had to get it off my chest, the loser I'm sure can't use a computer ! |

Nicely said, Fred! I assume you know who it is. Don't worry, karma is a great thing!
|

I don't think I've been there in 15 years or so...but I remember the dining room along the stream, lots of windows, very neat. Has anyone mentioned if that will be coming back? Are they going by old floor plans, or revising it some?
|
||||
In my travels, I go by there at least twice a week. Although I'm not too sure of Fred's plans, the building process is coming along great! |
||||

Ditto "Hmm"!!! Karma is a Bitch, Fred!!!
I also pass the establishment 5 days a week. I am very impressed on the progress being made as Fred is not there everyday or everyweek... but you can surely tell how much effort he puts in when he is there! The original dormers look FABULOUS!!!! Seeing them set on the back parking lot all charred and battered, I was very doubtful of them being used afterall. But I am just amazed! Can't wait to see more progress, hopefully before the snow falls. Keep up the great work, Fred!!! |

To anyone still reading this topix:
If you have been by the site it has come a long way now, Place looks great and clearly represents what was there before the fire! The old dormers that were salvadged now sit proudly where they sat for 70 plus years. The stones from the old chimney will be set next as well as the custom milled logs for the walls. I am looking for any suggestions on quotes for the sign, any short puns, jokes or brain teasers would be welcome. I'd like to change the sign every week if possible. You can add them on this site or e-mail them to me at "Kellyssleepyhollow@yahoo .com" Talk to you soon, Fred |
