Either way, parents are not becoming anymore conservative in their out look. A large number of the parents are were kids themselves when they had theirs. More than likely they are single parents. For me as a mature and caring father who still has morals, I do not want to leave it up to the parents or the teachers. A strict policy is what is needed. There is much too much skin being shown which is an enticement to the opposite sex including teachers. Enough with the individual expression. There are lines that should not be crossed and that is one of them. She is for sure not one of them because she was the person that sometimes choose what I was to wear to school in my younger years, but at around 8 or 9 I was able to make appropriate wardrobe decisions for myself. If those certain parents are not making the wrong wardrobe choices for their children then THEY alone need to be addressed. Just because a group of students make the wrong clothing chooses, you make them all wear uniforms? That is not the correct way to handle things at all. There are a LARGE number of students that are on drugs, does this mean every morning EVERY student should have to take a drug test? Reasonable thinking, come on now.

I agree with you however don't kid yourself, there are lots of people who would say that every kid should be drug tested. I have come to the conclusion that a good many people are more concerned with their personal comfort and feeling good about themselves than with making the hard choices and doing whats right. They think if the government does the job for them, they can feel good about themselves and they have done their part. They are you children people! You should raise them! Not a school board, not the government!

Uniforms also put all kids on a equal level and I'm all for it. As far as freedoms being taken Bush has taken more from you than this ever will. Kids have been going to school without uniforms for years. Has it really harmed any of them? If you don't like what your kid is wearing, TELL THEM TO CHANGE. This is exactly the kind of thinking that I don't understand. Be parents. Tell your kids what is appropriate. Start at a young age. You need a school board to tell you what your kids should wear? You need the school board to parent your children? Wake up people. You ones that are crying about uniforms are probably the same parents who have kids with half naked pictures of themselves on MySpace.

True, but I don't feel that’s its right that because of the actions of a few students, every student should have to wear uniforms and agree totally that parents should be the ones raising their children not the school board. I graduated from Latrobe in 2005 and there were the typical students that wore the baggy pants, short skirts, and low cut shirts, but they were dealt with not the whole school.

If I had been directed to wear a school uniform when I was attending school, I must say that I would have never had to serve time in prison. I firmly believe that a school uniform would have put me on the correct path, and now I must say to all of you, please support School Uniforms.
