What's up with the new bar downtown. I was driving by the other night and it sounded like there were dying walruses inside. Not to mention all the dirtballs hanging out outside. Atleast when it was Frank's Lounge it was always closed by 10 pm. If you ask me this is just the same wh*re in a different dress. No matter how hard ya try ya just can't polish a turd.

You seem like you'd know about polishing turds. You must be some old lonely and miserable fart.

In defense of the new bar, Which is now called Ligonier Street Grub & Pub it is hardy the same place as Frank's. This bar is now family owned & operated and I can personally guarantee that it is not the same wh*re in a differant dress. The new owners have tried very hard and succeded at making the corner of Ligonier & Main more appealing and the crowd is far from the same. What is your opinion of "dirt bag" anyway, people that are trying to make it through these hard times and might not be able to buy all the top line clothing? You can't judge a book by its cover and you really should be more supportive of the businesses in Latrobe.

My opinion of a dirtbag is a person that has no regard for the norm, has no integrity, and basically is just a drain on society. Examples of dirtbags are, murderers, rapists, dope dealers/user, pedophiles, those who engage in acts of domestic violence, non-functioning alcoholics, and generational welfare receiptients. Have you seen any of the above in the bar? Have you seen/heard any acts of violence and or drug sale/use in the bar?

I must add though that I don't condone the new owners. This is just the way this place has been and will always be. It's mostly due to the location and the town in general being overtaken by scum. (See the thread of the Yellow Building).

I must agree with Jack. My husband and I walk our dog in the evenings and I can't tell you how many times we've had to cross the street to avoid some undesirable staggering out of that mess. They did paint the outside, but you know the saying, a coat of paint on an outhouse...

i was so excited when i first saw them painting, etc. under new ownership thinking this is great
for the town but i have to agree it seems like
the same riff raff going in and out of there.
but, instead of slamming the patrons - how about
soome ideas of how we can save this place - i'm
sure the new owners were hoping for a change of
patrons as well. i know people always say raise
the drink prices and you'll keep out the riff
raff- but i'm not sure that's the answer - any
ideas of how to change the crowd and make it
a nice place for the town for lunches etc.????

Make the patrons produce a copy of their last year's W-2 along with their identification, that way you ensure you have a "working class" establishment.

I stopped in for a beer last week and the place was packed. People having a good time shooting pool (which is free sometimes), eating and drinking. Then Joe Downs walked out of the mens room naked. The owners threw him out, but I won't be back. I'll stick to the Frontier.

They need to get some decent musicians. If they are all as bad as the other night, no wonder it's only riff-raff patronizing the bar. Ya know what, I bet Saddle Up would be happy to play there. Now there's truly good entertainment. Hmm, maybe they could have a dwarf tossing event or sponsor a bowling team. That would bring in a different crowd.

I know one thing the place was packed with money spending patrons on Saturday, all of whom seemed to be haveing an enjoyable experience with no signs of trouble. Thanks to the grub and pub for bringing legitimate nightlife back to Latrobe. All of you haters sound like You've never even been in real city let alone lived in one.

You cant even see how many people are there from the outside. If you have no culture you should probably stay at home in your hole. Unless you want to continue driving around by yourself trying to get a glimpse of someone actually having a good time. Nobody expects you to understand whats going on inside when you are hiding in your beater car. Wishing you had somewhere or someone to hang out with. You cart t prove my point that there are very few people in latrobe that have ever been to a real city let alone lived in one.

Sounds like you have an interest in the bar? Could it be the owners taking advantage of their free Wi-Fi?
