I agree, the Mayor and Board campaigned on the platform of preserving the quality of life and the look of our small4 town and then this is allowed to go in the center of town. I don't
care what the design or the finished look of the building is, it way to big and out of place for the downtown area.I guess it's who you know or who
you are related to.
Just one more screw up by our great leaders.

Just as I figured. What game are you talking about. The project went through design guidelines and had to meet all city ordinances. You may be "in the know", but you don't know S--T about anything.

As long as the exterior is designed with the neighborhood in mind, it might just fit fine. You know, some second story ledges with concrete gargoyles....

Seriously, it is still shorter than Villa Maria across the street, and not much taller than the other office building (cornerstone?) in the area.

What would some of the nay-sayers prefer? A gravel parking lot for Kwitsky's or something?

Thank you for your nice remarks. The "game" is that maybe I don't agree with all of the "design" guidelines and some of the city ordinances. Since you went through city hall and everything was blessed, I'm sure we are all just going to love the final PRODUCT.

Yes, gargoyles would be great....but I would prefer that the old Zanca station still be there myself, but who am I, one of the naysayers????? Yes, I am about some things around our town, and I am proud to say that.

In the know and Gail, you could have a Zanca's or some other charming structure if you just OWNED THE PROPERTY. The problem with you people is that you want to dictate the use of other peoples property. There is a real simple solution to your problem. Pull your check book out of your fat ass and buy it. Until such time as you do that, shut up.

I thought OS lumber already had a showroom.?. While I am not a fan of the building as it currently stands I will wait until it is finished before casting judgement on it. Seems appropriate for placement though. Young couples enjoy walking the downtown area on saturdays. This will allow your product to get more face time and should increase your chances of more business. Best of luck with the building, I hope it turns out well.

Bob:
What with jerking checkbooks of your ass and telling people to shut up, you sound like the perfect candidate for Alderman or maybe even a stronger position e.g. Connie's Chief of Staff. You have already exhibited a leg up on the potential competition, although you will certainly need that checkbook to dislodge some of the lard-asses we have already elected.

OS Turd is right. I heard there were going to be a lot of different little shops in there, but I don't know.Shut up is not an option in America, yet.

What bothers me is that it seems to loom in the lot, doesn't look right. Zanca's was one of the coolest buildings in OS, I miss it. Too bad whoever pulled the checkbook out of their ass didn't have the taste and class to understand that the old Zanca's looked great and should have been preserved. No, it's all about how much money can be made.

And, didn't Zanca's change oil and do brake linings? Imagine what was in that soil they just dug up and spread around for everyone to breathe. Old brake linings have asbestos and probably that dirt should not have been dusted up like that.

The fact that it was approved by the city means nothing, we already know from reading Topix that it's all about who you know, isn't it. Where's the guy who posted about McDonnell having so many "friends", read his posts for a lesson in what buildings go up and what don't.

Just saw that thing today. It is crazy big and looks very out of place. I fear this has opened the door for more construction like this. Downtown will not be the same. If that building does belong to Connie's brother there need to be an investigation.

Daily Horoscope for December 17

Taurus

Catch up with the chores today, especially if you've got a long list of them and you want to get through them all before Christmas. You're feeling nicely efficient without wanting to work yourself into the ground, so carry on at a steady pace. A few well-chosen words in a certain person's ear will be more effective than a lengthy conversation at other times.
