I had some business in Las Vegas last week and I was stunned to see how run down the town is. I graduated from NMHU back in the 1980's and hadn't been back since. I was very excited to return, but was sad to see how bad Las Vegas looks. It looks very slummy and poverty stricken. In the old days it was a beautiful town. I'm sorry to say how bad the town looks, but its the truth.

I agree. I go down about once a year and it seems as if every year it gets worse and worse. It does look poverty stricken and run down. I hope things get better there soon.

Yes, unfortunately it does. I do agree with you all about Vegas being the "Arm-Pit" of the state. Not only does this place have abunch of wierdos and they send crazies here, it attracts weirdos. It has potential, dont get me wrong. If only it would be used it would be a very beautiful town. Maybe one day, hopefully. I guess thats all I have to say...Im now gonna go sit on the curb and "use the restroom" there in the street since it looks so dumpie around here.

There is a ton of road construction going on right now. A lot of the crappy roads are being fixed and I ope that at least the roads will add to Las Vegas instead of making it look worse. I also hope that a lot of Vegas residents are working on those crews. It would be just like our fair city to hire outsiders to do the work while our people are on their butts.

Its supposed to look like this, its a historic town. Who cares how it looks, its not that bad. Dont judge a book by its cover.

well the buildings are historic, everything else rests on the city and regulations. New town aka the east side looks like more money is being put into it than the west side or old town.

Las Vegas is not that bad, If you have traveled everywhere like I have, there are worse towns in New Mexico.
Las Vegas, is getting great progress.
I love visiting Las Vegas, I do love the old buildings, the beautiful houses, and scenery!
I use to live there it is amazing!
Every town is different, and many things have changed. Santa Rosa has changed to. But, every town is known for there differences.
It's the problem with funding that all the states are going through. Money is tight.
