Not sure what a bank or credit union profit margins are normally. I would not invest in a company bringing in 1.6% profit. They are just one financial crash away from going out of business.

You are so very right! Most of their profit is from predatory lending. Like a Murder of Crows, the banksters tear apart dreams and pick over the shreds of the working persons hopes.

That would include you too dpb, or don't you have a checking account, savings account, maybe some CD's, a mortgage etc?

Pray tell us you just might have learned that Credit Unions are a better choice?

I haven't had a Bank Account since 1998 or any Credit or Debit Cards either. I deal in CASH -- you know that green folding stuff no one uses anymore. Works fine, and I don't owe these bastards a dime nor any loyalty (the bloodsuckers can KMA). All my "accounts" have been closed for years. No Credit Union either -- just another group of capitalistic pigs using someone elses $$$ for their own profit. FK CAPITALISM, and their minions!

Oh, and no mortgage either -- paid that off in '98 too. Actually, I don't owe anyone anything. Worked for years to get on this level -- it works rather well, and the "economy" doesn't run my life.

Looks as if on some issues we are the same but I do have a business account and business credit card, no choice since I need a way to have EFT payments and credit card payments to the business.

You're aware of the one major down side to paying all cash, your credit and FICO scores won't be as high due to no current credit use but I bet we feel the same way on that issue, would rather pay $45,000 for a new vehicle than be stuck making payments for 5 years.

Yet the feeling of knowing one is debt free just cannot be fulling explained or understood unless one is there.

I'd settle for $250,000 a year.

Try doubling or even quadrupling that figure as they make millions a year, not a few hundred thousand.
