That happened with the financial aid at many universities, not just here.

Okay you Rocket Scientists, raise prices to go to college, students stop going...

remember last year the legislature had to put 10 million in the scholarship fund, and this year it is broke again, raise the GPA, and the income requirement to allow those students who really need the help.

Do you know how expensive it is to go to college? One book might cost $200.00! You expect someone working at the jobs this town has to offer to pay for college?! Maybe this girl is working to better her life? Maybe she already works?

Actually this is fact I know many top students that never got there student loan or aide and they are too students. Many very low student aid. Others can't afford it. People need to face that basically we are in a economic depression thats bad they just won't say it. Others who have degrees can't even find a job. Yet they are hiring drop outs because they are willing to accept low income.

True many do this. However I noticed more and more nobody is paying but minimum wage and you do the math all ones money goes to rent and utility. Specially in places like Alamogordo where the greed hits for rent in a majority poverty minimum wage town. Don't blame the Germans for high rent blame the land lord who takes multiple loans in his house out renting it high hoping a German family rents it. Eventually all the greed will collapse.

College is a money cash cow. 99% of the degrees offered are useless. send your kid somewhere else other than college. (read trade school).

It's due to the losing Aggie Football "Team?". Who the heck wants to be associated with a university that is the continuous loser of football games year in and year out. What was the excuse this week?

First off, a student can't get financial aid until age 24 unless married, has kids, or determined independent. Getting fincanical aid has to do with grades and repeat of classes. Also financial aid is mostly of loans, which the student has to pay back. Now, a student single or not with no dependents should be able to pay for their own college education.

It never said loan, it said financial...
One can only assume that is financial aide which may or may not have to be paid back.
