It's ignorance, laziness, and selfishness, that's why this lady did what she did. Throw her in jail I say, but they won't do this. A few hours of counseling and she'll be right back to neglecting her kids.

Why didn't she just put the kids in the car and take them with her? There is no telling what kind of trouble a 3 year old can get in to being left alone for even 15 minutes. No common sense.

23 and she has three kids. She may have given birth to them, but is obviously mentally still a kid herself. A selfish and irresponsable kid, not a mother.

I went through this with a former student of mine. He said he was going to be alone all weekend. He was 12. I talked to the school counselor who advised me to call CYFD/CPS. I did and they told me that there were no laws regarding leaving children at home. I was shocked, since I had just moved here from a state that has strict guidelines about that. CYFD told me to call the police to verify it. I did, they verified it. I asked what would happen if the child was injured, etc. I was told that if the police were called out, then they could do something.

Sad, but true. This is NM, where, at least in the southern part, more value is placed on the life of a pit bull than that of a child.

So sad that there are people out there that would love the opportunity to love three of God's greatest gifts and they aren't able to have one and here this ungrateful brat leaves them as if they mean nothing to her. Nothing but an inconvenience until the government check arrives I guess.

If you aren't ready for the responsibility of kids the use a contraceptive or practice abstinence! I am disgusted. Friends mean more then the welfare of her children!!!!

Unbelievable! She will get them back and probably crank out two or three more before she's 26.Time for New Mexico lawmakers to put some teeth into this type of child abuse. But, this is New Mexico and nothing will happen....business as usual.

Roads lead out of here as well as in. If you don't like New Mexico, there are 49 others states you can move to and complain about. Why do people leave Hell, move here, and then try to turn it into the place they left? This happens all over the US.

She did what she she was supposed to do. She reproduced! Now, society owes her all the worship, support , and encouragement that all others deserve.

Contemporary society still worships the fertility godesses of Astarte, Ishtar, and Baal! As a matter of fact, human society has worshipped fertility godesses for the last 13,000 years. Yeah, she probably gets a gov't check for her kids in the form of welfare, but who out there don't get a gov't check, in the form of a tax deduction for being a breeder too?

Just think of the story of Christmas. Young mother of a child of questioanble patrimony, married to a broke, manual laboring cuckhold who can't even afford a decent place for his wife to lay down to have the other guy's baby. Then, when she does have this other guy's baby,(in a place much like those cheesy motels on south Main right before El Paseo) three rich dudes show up and reward her for reproducing!

Sound like Las Cruces?

And somehow, this story warms the hearts of many in the world, told over and over again, while certain folks (who don't necessarily believe the story) line their greedy pockets with the symbolic green leaves of the mystified who have exhanged them for worthless tokens and gadgets.

Merry Christmas

Fed Up, you're lying. There's no way that it's not child neglect to leave a 12-year-old home alone all weekend. Look at the surgeon and his wife that were arrested for doing that very thing.

No, I'm not lying. I also never said it wasn't child neglect. I said there are no laws here that prevent a parent from leaving a child unattended. If something happens and the police are called out, then they will do something. But, a child left alone is not a crime if nothing happens to that child. I don't agree with that, but that is how it is.

This is another example of kids having kids, Las Cruces style. This "girl" (obviously not a grown mature woman yet) continue to make dumb decisions. Three kids at age 23 shows you are still not responsible enough to care for children. Restrain yourself from having children until you are ready in every way. These poor kids have to live this type of life and they to will learn same behavior. It becomes a vicious cycle and way of life for"ever" Some people are just not ready to beparents.

It doesn't matter if there are NO LAWS as you claim to leave children alone in a home. IT matters to be RESPONSIBLE, PERIOD!! These young kids cannot care for themselves, PERIOD! Your reasoning is totally off base and simply unreasonable and unconsionable.
