Will this proposed ordinance allow for the choking of chickens? I've seen these CLUCK yankers give a presentation at the court youth center two years ago. They are seriously not all there in the head. Urban hillbillys.

Dogs cause many more problems than chickens ever will.

People in town are keeping chickens already. Check out the house on the corner of Dona Ana rd and Karen ave.

Did the regulation change? I've been searching around to see if I can buy chickens!

I have lived around animals all my life and have found that the least problematic are chickens or ducks and pygmy goats. The MOST problematic are dogs that are not cared for by there owners and cats that are not properly fed or housed that go wild. The ordinance in Las Curces against having chickens and ducks is ludicrous and shows the lack of intellect by our city council and Mayor Myagashima.Las Cruces began as a rural city and has not change in most respects, except for animal ordinances
The ordinances against farm animals should not be changed until the density of the city reaches 250,000 or more. The city can not supply the needs of the homeowners and have there heads stuck where the sun doesn't shine. Las Cruces began as a farm community and still derives most of its income from agriculture. When kept in a clean and wholesome environment and condition, there should be no ordinances against any farm animals other than horses and cows. Even then we are allowed to spread cow or horse manure on our lawns to fertilize our grass, so what harm can farm animals do to the land.
I think that a person should be able to keep animals of their choice, as long as it is not disagreeable to the neighbors around them.

The next thing the City Council in their ignorant wisdom will decide is to outlaw the sale of chickens withing the city limits. It is ludicrous to have laws that are against what a community is.
Las Curces is and has always been a farm and ranch community, and this is why many of the people moved here. I would be interested in have a petition started to do away with the law, since it is not beneficial to the city.
What will happen next the City Council and the mayor will want to outlaw the growing of pecans in the Mesilla Valley. This is what becomes of a city when people elect city officials that are Progressive Democrats,(socialists) who think they know what is best for everyone in the city and never try to feel the pulse of the people.
If someone will start a petition to repeal the no farm animal law, I will be glad to sign it.
