And Mesilla still has the history of allowing racist groups into the fold, only for the price of under the table antics. Remember the racist plaque?? MONEY BOUGHT IT. How about Deputy Serna?? MONEY IS BUYING HIM OUT OF HARMS WAY AGAIN.
If you are in law enforcement, and wish to drink and drive, have a high blood alcohol content TWICE THE LEGAL LIMIT, then come on down to Mesilla!! You will be welcomed with open arms by the largest population of BLIND PEOPLE. They even have signs posted warning all about the population being so blind.
I am going to take my millions else ware and leave this messed up propaganda influenced town.
Think I'll go help the more intelligent species here, the Scorpion.
The people here aren't impressed with your devalued money, Mr. Fitzgerald. If you are so rich, hightail it to Palm Beach, Goofball.

Hmmmm makes one wonder how they would have dealt with the Serna's, Cadena's, and Vega's to name a few back then......

Actually pretty good story Sun News. Amazing what happens when you hire journalists and not people barely smart enough to read police reports.

Maybe you should go back and educate yourself about the facts and if you're not sure of the sources then do a little more work and figure it out.
By the way, it's spelled M-E-S-I-L-L-A, proof reading is a nice notion.
Also, before judging our Sun-News writers, you should Google their name and see how they became credited individuals.....could Mr. Schurtz possibly be a graduate student with a public history degree…..
mmmm what a concept.

Couldn't have said it better.....sure beats no named mentioned story on the “oh so tragic Zeta panty theft.“ Thank you Mr. Schurtz for being an awesome Journalist and Historian as well as for all your hard work with such a well written piece of our area’s history! Would love to see more work from you at Sun-News!!!

Mesilla hasn't changed much since then. They've managed to ruin every little festival there with their liberal, pointless decisions. Let's charge the vendors a price they can't afford and charge the local folk up the nose to come into the plaza. it's all over.

"As a natural consequence," the Santa Fe Daily New Mexican reported after the riots, "there has always been more or less disorder; law and justice have fallen into contempt, and some of the vilest scoundrels that ever infested a community have enjoyed complete immunity."

Some things never change.

The scoundrels would be the carloads of your family. You must be related to Lemons' heirs, who currently still live in Mesilla and ocassionally are seen at La Posta.
Lemon's "heirs" dont live in Mesilla. They live on the east mesa and they are very elderly. One son, about 50, lives in Reno. You dont know what you are talking about at all.

So true...these halfwits get on the computer and try to make comments when they need to go back and get their GED's and search out those places who remove tattoos from their necks and faces.

Knowledge is a concept they have only read about or saw a public service advertisment on television.

I'd rather do what Lemon did to his rivals against these ignorant clods stoked on cheap alcohol or meth...or both!

(LOL) at your tweaking of ignorant's spelling of Mesilla!(LOL) Excellent work!
