Veterans' transitional home feared to be victim of budget cuts

Officials promoting the expansion of a transitional living complex for veterans told state lawmakers here Monday that funding for the project may be on the chopping block, along with other statewide capital outlay that could be cut because of a budget crisis.

Funny we still have the money to send more troops to fight usless unwinable wars but can't help them when they get home.Sad..Disgusting, I'd say.
Seems some things never change, surely not the way veterans are treated.

Yup, and I just finished reading Sub-Gov Denish's fluffy prop piece titled "Wearing the uniform, and its meaning".

We should redouble our efforts to repay them for their sacrifice.

We should make sure they are able to buy that first home, enter that first college class. When they are ill or injured, we need to be ready to care for them in the best possible way.

They have given of themselves to us. We should do no less for them.

Should is the key word here. The reality is quite different.
