Wow! Can you imagine the catasrophe if that hospital fire had gotten out of control? These 2 should do the full time in Springer and then send them to prison in Santa Fe for at least 10 years after the Springer stretch. Scary!

Let's see, a mental hospital, with mental patients - who are suppose to be supervised at all times - and the patients are arrested - hmmmmm.

do you even understand what could have happened and how many people could have gotten hurt and you are blaming the staff????? these kids are supervised at all times but its not the staffs fault if the little ****heads decide to sneak stuff in and actout. unlike a detention center this place is a HOSPITAL so monitored but not totally resricted. before you start throwing judgements get your facts straight. hospitals can't stop idiots from coming in, they are to help the mentally ill and sometimes idiot slip through, however they, at least one of them, are geting what they deserve. you can't help the unwilling.

I have been in this school.

It is a security doored, locked window facility.

Guests or outsiders are escorted everywhere
by a member of staff.

The kids in there are placed there because
they are a "problem" on normal citizen
school campus grounds.

What kind of problem?

I guess the kind that keeps them inside on locked
down access and movement.

They were appearantly left to their own devices
and acquired materials to start a fire.

Very bad. Very bad. Musn't leave the inmates
alone. Very bad.

Ive have actually just been dischrged from the adult rehab unit of mesilla valley hospital and i can say from experiance that this hospital is run VERY POORLY. Im not saying that all the staff is contributing to this but there is so much inconsistency in their rules and procedures. Not to mention the fact that there is no where near enough 1 on 1 therapy with your therapist. There are actually about to be auditted by some regulating national organization that is like the FDA but for Psych hospitals. I really hope that this causes some desperatley needed change in their program. But either way my family and i are definately looking into the legalities of my personal situtaion. If anyone else has been wrongfully discharged or treated poorly by this facility please post what happened or feel to email @ KoKoMan420@yahoo.com

This story and the failing nursing students are connected. It is unbelievable how incompetent the medical industry is nowadays while charging prices that are out of sight. Reform the whole industry. They help and cure no one. The pharmaceuticals only benefit.

I admitted myself back in October and was asked to leave after two weeks for questioning their inconsistancy regarding rules, procedures, staff competency, and even issues regarding revealing private information to outsiders and other paitents. This place needs to have their acredidation and or evern personal licenses revoked. Some paitents were there for mandatory reasons, but I can tell you all twelve of us felt the same way and voiced our concerns in an inteligent and calm mannar. Most administrative and therapy staff were unprofessional and not very well educated. Makes you wonder why the HMO's pay these places for our treatment when we're so unsatisfied with their level of treatment and not helped with our addictions, mine being booze.

tHIS facility is a high security public school/hospital accredited institution...

It's not a resort.

Not now or ever.

If you were put there, or admitted yourself,
you have a problem which requires very
strict and regimented control while you are
there.

If you don't tortillas, don't order tacos.

Based merely on your level of common sense, you should be the mayor.

Facilities/hospitals are not vacation homes.Which is why, personally, it is really important to try to keep your self together; physically, mentally, etc. You cannot rely on society to take care of you or treat you after you've made mistakes. Stay straight, off drugs, eat well (not lots!) form supportive friendships, and do what you can to stay mentally healthy. It is a tough world now.

this place wasnt a bad place but im telling you this i hated it the way they treated you like you were stupid and unable to do anything for yourself
in my opinion they deserved to get burned down.
i just i could have seen it.
those *******.
they even had a deaf phyciatrist
nothing against him but i would prefer talking to someone who dint have to shove a microphone or whatever it is in your face.
if anything i felt more excepted by the people who were admitted than the staff.

My daughter went there voluntarily and she was horrified by the way she was treated. She thought she was going to substance abuse rehab and instead she encounter herself being treated without respect and scrutinized by some of the staff. Not the nurse but the other staff that some of the only have high school diplomas. I do not recommend this place to anyone who is looking for substance abuse rehab.

that hospital sucked major ass, the food tasted like dog shit and it hardley seemed like the staff didn,t give a fuck. The groups were a major waste of time. The only thing i liked was playing basketball because that happens to be one of my favorite sports. i waz there in the summer of 2007 and let me tell u instead of a hospital rehab type setting it felt more like a prison. i take that back i think prisoners even have better off than we did at this place this place waz hell..........
