What will it cost us? During the Republican control of Congress, gas prices rose from $1.60 to $2.14 a gallon.

My question of Stan Johansen is why does the American Public think it is immune from having to start controlling its gluttony when it comes to the rapidly dwindling fossil fuels?

And don't tell me that we don't have any alternatives because we do!

When attending college, the best source of information to supplement class work and assigned reading was the library. Although I was fortunate enough to have the library close, what about those who cannot afford to drive to the library? People who live on a limited income, live in the East Mesa, Chapparal, Vado or other unincorporated areas not serviced by libraries may have difficulty in getting to Thomas Branigan Library. People with limited means need the resources of a library to bring them out of poverty. If they were afforded services to get them out of poverty, they would be tax paying citizens. Think about it.

simply driving to work, is that gluttony? How about going to the Doctor's office, to the grocery store, to school? The keyboard you are using is produced by methods that require fossil fuels. Your fingernail polish, your rings, your skin moisturizer, your shirt or blouse, your necklace, your glasses(if you wear them), your hair coloring, your belt, your skirt or dress (or pants),your socks, shoes, the carpet or flooring you walk on,the door you open and close to enter and leave your house (yes, your house also), the concrete walkway, your bicycle, the watch you look at to see if you are late, the newspaper and books you read and this is all before you get to work, or school, the doctor's office or the grocery store. I could go on and on. Is there really an alternative?

I knew both Don Dresp, Retired Director TBML and Pat Greathouse, Retired Assistant Director TBML. They ran a fantastic library and were professionally adept.

I hope the politicians and current library staff look for to them for input. They are an extremely valuable recourse.

Good luck in solving the problems at the library. It always seems to me there was money for police and war but not education and books.
