If they weren't good for the economy, I'm sure the US government would not let them shop anymore... Around 10 years ago, shopping in the US for Mexicans was illegal, the Mexican immigration officers would take everything you bought, but after NAFTA it was allowed.
If you say Mexicans only take and take and take, explain why has this been allowed for such a long time?
Try reading the post again but this time for comprehension.
NOTHING was said about Mexicans!

It was about the burden of U.S. law on the El Paso taxpayer due to manifiestos and that the El Paso RETAILERS are NOT good coporate citizens because they take and take.

It may be good for RETAILERS but it is not good for the economy or community of El Paso when the local taxpayer has to SUBSIDIZE the infrastructure because the local sales tax is refunded.

Here ya go:
The complaint is called manifiestos. It takes away millions in taxes from the local community and residents have to subsidize all the infrastructure for their free use.

The retail outlets in El Paso are not good corporate citizens and contribute nothing to the community - only take and take and take.

Long overdue for this part of the borderland.
If El Paso does not want the increased trade in the area. Then let Sunland Park take advantage of the
economic opportunities a new bridge will account
for in employment & tax revenue.

"Increased trade" of what, our dollars, jobs and security for their criminals, drugs, poverty, ignorance and Third World culture?? Your preposterous suggestion deserves the mother of all "NO's"!

Country Club road is already pack with too many Juarez plates. We don't want more non tax payers over here.
That's just ignorant and an overstatement! Believe or not, YES they do pay taxes, not property taxes of course, but people who come here from Juarez are huge consumers and everything they buy is taxable. It's ridiculous how many of you westsiders still hold that smug mentality from the 80s, but then again, people are too stubborn to face that reality. Of course you're going to see so many Juarez plates, they're obviously going to the nicest part of town to SPEND their money and PAY the taxes that come with it.(:

Don't they get a tax rebate? Anyway, it is more logical that they shop in Eastside, where the most of the malls are located. I'm sure they're not shopping when they fake their kids to school or are parked seven days, night and day.

For a city of country that brings nothing to the table as far as cash to help pay for the improvements you should do b__ch about it.You should be grateful that the U.S doesnt take a bite from the Mexican people as your police dept does or take the plates away. You have the best of both worlds.Be grateful.

And why do we care what a Mexi can't lawmaker
wants. Screw him - less border crossings,
less security issues and more enforcement.

When he can figure out how to knock out the cartels then he can talk to us about this
until then "SHUT THE FRONT DOOR CLOWN"
