If I get a bad hair cut,
It will grow back...... new day, start over. Bad tattoo or bad choices...... here are some options.... wear long sleeve shirts, grow hair longer to cover, get expensive ink work covered by more expensive ink work..... hang around other people with tattoos just as ugly or lacking definition to "blend in", possibly risk getting hepetitis or other cool infections so you look like you suffered for your art. The only gurantees you have are all of the above or be realistic......... you don't have to get the biggest POS tattoo you can afford so someone else thinks you are cool. Cool is between your ears and surrounding your heart. Can't tell you how freaking trashy an attractive woman looks with the same ink above her ass crack worn by 400 other girls in the same town. "Oh, mines' different" ..........>>>...no it isn't! Peace |

What's happening!!!!....WOW Thought you fell off the earth and no one's seen hide nor hair of you! Seriously, you really want to get inked? If I did make a recomendation, it's only because I've read your mind and know you're a grown up.......slightly different from adult. anyone can do that. |

Tattooing is a bastard orphan of "Fine Art". It always has been. I believe that the goal many appreciators of this art are trying to do is to give it the respect it deserves as a participating medium within the spectrum of "Fine Art". Artist's are not at fault as in this free country we have the right to choose and continue our personal lives without the complications of our government getting involved. I myself, a Master Tattoo Artist, started as a "scratcher" and without that ambition I would never be in the position that I am today. I not only speak for myself, but for every Master of this trade in this town from Old Schooler's Sam (505 Tattoos) and Joe (5150 Tattoos), to Omar (The Mayan) in this article and myself. I'm sure we all agree that it is easier and more productive for newcomers in this business to learn the right way. But, that does not call for ignorance of the fact that between client and tattooer there must be a stable ground of trust. This was achieved by us Master Tattooists throughout the world long before laws came into effect. The question then is, is the Tattooist you choose confident, willing and above all careful to give you the tattoo you deserve? Orale, you gotta trust your barber, tu cook, so might as well have confianza in your tattooist to give you what you want the way they see it fit, verdad? Ignorance is only second to Arrogance.

Oh, where to begin. I decided to lay low for a while. Too many whacko's on topix. But now I am back. Trying to visit as many restaurants as possible, too! I have two small tat's already. Hubby and I are thinking about getting an oroborous, a la X-Files. Weird, I know. But I want to make sure we find someone safe. BTW, thanks for believing I am grown up. Sometimes I wonder about it myself:-) |

I like tat's...I have a some one and then I just finished a big one last week. Too many tat's not so cool but some, why not. Anyway my artiist is the owner of "American Graffiti" in Las Cruces and he has done an amazing job. I trust him and I trust him to work on others. He has been in the business for a long time. SO check it out....I am sure that no matter what requirements are, true tattoo artist will do what the state says if they don't already.

I'd never hear that word before. I looked up it up. The symbol is thousands of years old. I like the idea because it bonds your marital union. I love that kind of symbolism. I know a girl who got a poorly done tattoo on her lower back,......you know where..... and she wanted it to be a gordian knot. A puzzle knot that could never be untied. About the size of her clenched fist. It turned out it looks like an onion. Too bad she hates it. Everything else around the onion looks hot. |

It is so weird how we started out liking Scully's tat, then, after researching the symbol we realized how much it applies to our lives and all we stand for. I am really excited to get it done. I will take pics to post once we do it! |

Do you have any idea what those tattoos will look like in 10-20 years? Just look at your parents and picture your tattoos smeared out over a layer of fat. A nice butterfly now will look like a buzzard in a few years.

Does anyone have any recommendations for an artist who is especially good with flowers? I am looking to get multiple calla-lilies on either my back or my leg. Still undecided.... Anyways, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated:)

Wow. Since I am forty years old, I think I can make an informed choice without your pomposity, but thanks anyway. BTW, the two tats I already have still look just fine. Had one for 20 years and the other for 10. |
Did you happen to get either one of your previous tats here in Cruces? I am looking for recommendations on our local artists in search of who will do my first..... Thanks!! |

"Any Suggestions"
I did, and in my previous post I put that I go to "American Graffiti" on 306 E. Union in Las Curces I just got a pretty big one and it looks awesome. |
|
Thanks!!! I didn't see an ad for them in the yellow pages, but they are listed in the white pages. I will try to get by there and see what they've got. Just out of curiosity, was yours mostly black/grey or was it colorful? Does one tend to be more painfull than the other? Thanks again!! |

I got one in Alamogordo and one in San Diego. Not sure which hurts most, I have heard both are worse. Since mine are on fleshy parts of my body neither one hurt. |
|
Well I got one years ago so it don't count it was little. The recent one as 3 in one. Its very colorful but thats because I wanted it to be. I got it on my right oblete and it hurt like crazy because it was on the bone of right under my underarm all the way down to my hip. It took me 3 sessions. The coloring is what hurts. But if you just "man up" it will all be worth it. Trust me. Always I did research on mine to make sure I got what I wanted. My advice to you is to have it tell a story about you or something you have overcome or what not. Good luck!!!
