Marijuana is where most of your Meth or Coke heads start. When the Marijuana isnt cutting it and getting them high they move on. This is part of the reason we have the problem we do.
The Law is the Law, Marijuana is ILLEGAL!!!!!!
Marijuana doesn't lead to hard drugs. The Dutch enjoy the lowest rate of hard drug abuse in the western world and marijuana+hashish are sold openly. Sorry pal, you've gotta find a new argument.

I'll be civil. I want to know exactly how pot being illegal is anywhere near as bad as the genocide of people.
It's not about the substance being illegal it has to do with the belief of people who are not harming anyone when exercising their beliefs. It was an example, albeit a poor one that just because it's a law doesn't make it right.

How many people think Medical Marijuana should be legal and a personal responsibility, and How many of you think is is a dangerous drug, a gateway drug, and anyone caught with a joint should go to jail?

You would 'think' common since would prevail, but looks to me like some Americans are eaten up with a terminal case of the dumb ass. I believe we spend way to much money trying to legislate peoples morals. Didn't work with prohibition , will not work with our "war" on drugs. Will it?

Morning to you too. Your right didn't quite answer my question. LOL I know there are benefits to medical marijuana. I also don't believe it is a gate way drug. Although with any medecine it too can be abused. I use it myself, then again I do not have loads of pain. I don't know anyone in the area who can answer these questions for me, therefore why I ask. It is my understanding that although it is prescribed in many states the laws don't recognize it. Colorado they do but NM they don't. So script or not you will be ticketed in NM, so that is why I am so confused.
New Mexico and Colorado have state laws regarding the legal use of medical marijuana. Medical marijuana is still illegal under federal law. If you qualify for a medical marijuana card, the local and state authorities will not bust you, but the feds still can. Obama feels like they have more important things to worry about but, if we get another Republican you can bet that the feds will waste all kinds of tax dollars legislating the morality of other people. They won't be happy until they turn the US into Saudi Arabia.

Sort of funny, in a pathetic sort of way. The poor old cops can't win, can they?
uhhhhhhhhh Jodgy- In the last 10 years 6 of our "poor old cops" have been busted for illegal drugs. Our law inforcement employees were picked on as young adults and now want to get back at the world for being mean to them. How sad is that? My neighbor is a cop and he has beer parties till very late into the evening- and guess what? All his drunk buddies stumble to their cars and drive home. Our cops suck lady!!!!!!!!!

and where do you get these facts, most dopers start by using marijuana. They party with other dopers when someone brings something different they try it and are hooked. Go to any of the drug counseling places and listen to any of the drug addicts talk they will tell you they started with marijuana.
I use real life situations for my reference, go to the Meth treatment facility on Airport and see for yourself. What benefit would these people have to lie especiall about something like this. They do not benefit, they are only giving it to try and recover from their habit.

What a crock! Those plants would have yielded an ounce each at best...maybe 1.5 ounces on a good day. There is no possible way that there was $126k worth of weed in there. At the very most, you're looking at 28 ounces x $400+- an ounce, which=$11,200. Don't you think that if they were making that kind of money they'd be living on Park Ave. in NYC? The fact that this paper would even print something like this merely illustrates the collusion between law enforcement and the media with regard to the drug war.$11k is NOT a lot of money! Stop making people like this out to be hardcore criminals.
I see that you have never grown pot before. I grow indoors for a medical marijuana co-op. The amount that a plant will produce depends on its strain. White Widow will produce between 8-10 dried oz. each. Northern lights #6 will give 6-8 oz. per plant and New York Sweet and Sour almost 16 oz. per plant. I have been doing this for 6 years now . At $400 an oz. your getting ripped off. It costs me only $18.00 per oz. to grow. Our co-op sells to MM cardholders an oz. for $22.50 or gives it for nothing, to cancer victims and SS income people.

Thank you Sara (Portland OR) you hit the nail on the head. I had to smile when I saw 28 plants was a "Grow House". This is a place where we have people driving around town with 15, 16, 17 plus DWI's...
Where Meth is a cottage industry, where Unemployment is 10+ percent, and as a rule people are dumber than a box of rocks. I doubt not one person in this county has read "The Emperor Wears No Clothes", yet all have a negative attitude to Medical Marijuana. God help them.

I have a growing question. When you say 8-10 oz of White Widow, how do you calculate the yield? I mean do you let the plant grow to a certain height, pull it, and dry it and weight it? Or, do you get that much by allowing the plant to live indefinately while you pick a few buds here and there for consumption?

Calculating yield is purely subjective. True Yield is of course done after the 'plant' is mature, trimed and packaged. Law enforcement will 'weight' the plant with dirt in the roots, stem's and all...but then, they are the same people who look for 'mushroom' seeds. Funny. Growing your own is of course the best way to go, I would start with 10-15 plants, then remove all but 4 or 5 female plants. This will give one or two people as a rule a good annual crop and with care in planting should cause no alarm or set off any suspicions. I suggest, no, I recommend you apply for a "medical" marijuana status and become as "legal" as possible. There are several good books available on how to "grow" good pot.
