Most of you inbred morons just answered a lot of questions about the type of people that live here. So, it's alright to beat a child with an instrument? I now understand the need for forced sterilizations, you all make me sick. I would love to spend 15 minutes with each of you and this piece of human waste that harmed this child. I bet you mind it when I busted your a s s with a flyswatter I make in my garage. You sickening trash, you're probably the reason that the welfare rolls are so full now. Trash.
I bet you don't reprimand your kids and they are of the type that are helping to create a lot of the problems that other children have. You must be raising yours as bullys

Okay, where are you guys getting "welt" from. I read the article and is says BLISTERS, not welts. He hit her enough times and hard enough to leave blisters, not welts.
You are correct. The word "welt" doesn't appear anywhere in the article. Someone may change a word or put a spin on a atory and many others follow along like sheep to slaughter and others will respond with their own agenda to lead the sheep in another direction to get slaughted somewhere else.

I was spanked with a lot of different things, slippers, fly swatter, wooden spoon, my dad's hand, but none of them ever caused blisters. So I'm having a real hard time seeing how swatting with anything makes blisters. Welts, yes, but it didn't say welt.

I wonder if there is some weird reporting, both on the part of whoever turned him in and on the part of the law enforcement agency. Just to make people angry with the guy instead of angry perhaps with an agency run amok.

From what I read from the article, this child was NOT his child. His wife and the child's mother went out shopping and they left this baby with this man.

So yes, if someone spanked my child hard enough to leave welts or blisters, I'd contact the police too.

I agree. And I am the guilty one for using the word 'welts' first. well excuse me! But can someone tell me, when a 3 year old is hit by, obviously not his parent and someone who can't obviosly handle a 3 year old misbehaving hits the child with a fly swatter hard enough to leave blisters or welts, what's the difference between the 2, it was a 3 year old!

p.s. oh yea Barb, go Chargers! lol

There ya go A s s h a t, I see your URL is San Angelo, TX. So, I'm going to write slow because you probably read slow; my children are disciplined when ever they get out of line. fortunatly, I had a rough upbringing and learned from that. Treat children with respect and love and everything works out. As for my kids being a problem, not even, they have actually completed tests that show they are approximately 2 years ahead of kids their age, a reflection of parenting. They don't act violently, I have taught them that the smarter person will always triumph (that means win!) over the less intelligent. I'm sure you understand this concept, moron.

I remember the day I was old enough to take the flyswatter away from Mom. I was grounded for a week, but if I am big enough to grab the swatter, who is going to stop me from going where I want. Now days I get satisfaction by strangling the cat.

So, you want to beat people up also? That is not the answer. You would just get yourself hurt.

I was whooped thouroughly while growing up, got plenty of welts, never a blister - burns cause blisters.

If a fly swatter made blisters, that was no swat.. That was abuse. If it leaves a mark, it's abuse. He must have really been swinging it hard and fast to make a blister. No 3 year old could possibly done anything bad enough to deserve being hit that hard.
Just had my 21 month old grandson spanked by his mom. Child abusive and from his butt to his ankle he looks like a candy cane or a red striped zebra. This is a felony charge and we are waiting for court day. My son is the biological father with no thanks to her. She said he wasn't so paternity done 99.99% that it is. Now we are fighting to get at least temporary custody until DHS releases him. She lied in court saying it was someone else's baby. She wants our money only. Selfish !!! Her court day is coming and I will see that she won't get him and a felony charge. I hate a liar

Are we sure this guy didn't just think he was swatting a big fly? Is the kid ok?

We spend way too much time medling in people's lives. To me a welt is a mark. Is it raised? Is it not? Who knows. Do kids need discipline? Yes. Do we have to beat 'em to death? No. Is there a lack of discipline in the US today? Yes. There's a happy balance. Find it.

I'm no one to decide what works in what family. This seems to be a case of someone overdoing it. Is that always the case? No. Kids almost come programmed with 1800ChildAbuse.

We protect kids too much and then they meet the nasty old world that eats them up. I'm for protecting kids to a point. When we protect them so much that they tell the teacher to Foff or do as they wish, we've over done it.

This case should be right up Susana Martinez alley. Can't get a thing done in the state, but will crucify this type of case.

Hope the kid is fine.
