Yeah, yeah, yeah, typical "what have you done for your community" response. No, I don't know who you people are but I have seen how much time you spend on these forums and it's obvious that if your were involved in your community you wouldn't have time to collect so many posting numbers. Look at your posting numbers and look at mine. It's a sad life most of you lead.

A better solution would be to toss the kids and their parents in Jail for a few days....Hold the parents accountable for the lack of discipline in their home. Additionally tack on some community service time. They could make our city more attractable by picking up trash, pulling weeds for a few hours a week.

You sound just like I would imagine a typically narrow minded, mean spirited country bumpkin to sound.
As I previouslty mentioned, you do not know me or anything about me.
The number of postings I have is none of your concern.
I lead a very happy and productive like with many hobbies, Topix being one of them.

I'm just taking a break from volunteering yard work for my senior neighbor and checked up on whats being said on topix, these people I consider friends your insulting and judging, how dare you, what if I didn't mention I was taking a break,you don't know me or anyone else here, your a friggin loser. Why are you even on this Forum if you don't want to respond to the articles? You don't have to be biased to comment. A lot of these people get on here to see were the gaps are within our legal system. That way they can have them addressed through the proper channels. These offenders should be punished according to there ages and actions. A lot of times the children are released to their parents who do nothing because they are dead beat parents. So if we don’t voice our opinions about this issue, then these little offenders will grow up thinking they can get away with things more serious.

You can sit with your kid at school. That would be one way to find out who your kids are going to school with.

You guys can't tell me that you never did anything wrong in school. Whether it was smoking cigarettes, marijuana, or drinking alcohol. Most of these kids are going to grow out of this behavior.

I can see getting upset about damaging property, but the other stuff, come on...they are just experimenting.

Has anyone thought of the idea that the detention center for juveniles are bursting at the seams. Therefore there is no room for the violators in the childrens code?

Tularosa might be suitable place to build a detention center in oreder to place these juvenile hooldums

Do you have any kids, you sound like you allow your children to experiment with drugs or alcohol, I for one try my best for my children not to make the same mistakes I've made, and if they do, I don't condone it by saying "oh, their just experimenting, they'll grow out of it". And I agree with mostly everyone else when these kids vandalize someones property we need harsher punishment.

as to putting them in jail...my parents did just that...they said, "nope, take her to jail" and the police did! Scared me kinda straight! Enough to stay away from illegal stuff and going ons, heck it was enough to make me join the military and get away from the loser friends I had.
the parents could say, "no, take them, I don't have control and they arn't listening to me, you try to fix them"
I am glad it happened as a juvenile and I had a chance to change as an adult!

as an added note; I love my parents and they are the a great example and I only hope I can be such an example to my kids!
