Well I'm on month 2 with Sprint and have not been down for a second yet. My max speed is averaging 1.1 Mbs which is pretty good considering they say 800 Kbs as an average. The extra $25 a month is well worth it since I can now connect the xbox360. I also like that I now have my connection almost anywhere I go, just plug into the USB port on my Laptop and I'm surfing. Equipment cost after rebates was only $20, compared to that $400 crap on my roof.

One last story to tell, they improperly grounded the transmitter and we had an electrical storm come through, resulted in a fried HDTV, both Satellite receivers were baked, lost a DVD player and a Home Theater System.

Thankfully the insurance company I have covered the cost of repairs and replacements after they sent in their certified electrician to determine the cause.

He was suppose to have his final pre-trail yesterday at 3:30P in front of Yuille, but no trail date is in the books as of today.

We are currently having the same issues with Doug that everyone else seems to be having....Isn't there SOMETHING we as a group can do?

not only did doug over charge me, when the system went down, he also gave me the "you have a virus crap" i was paying 39.99 a month when it says on the qix site 29.99 for residental, i'm thinking that the extra 10.00 is for the equipment, instead of the 400.00 up front, i whent and got an air card from verizon and it works great!!
my neighbor has a sprint air card and it works great too, i'm on the north end of attica twp. off bowers, so get an air card and get rid of the qix scam boy!! cost like 60.00 a month but worth the extra just for the customer service
had qix for a year called doug to come get his garbage off my roof, i'm gonna see if he'll give me back the 120.00 extra for the equipment if he's taking it back

i have qix net and it only works some times.doug installed after i paid him then blamed leaves and a tree for me not getting a signal,yea right.sent him a letter about no service and called but guess what,no respones.doug just shows up and then blames you or your computer for the problem.reported him to better buisness.glad im moving to be done with him.

Doug is a complete @hole. He lives in Fenton, MI. They lied about their quality of service. When your service goes down.(happens all the time) he will put the blame on you. When you try to cancel service he won't take your calls. Stuck with over $400 worth of worthless cheap equipment. Actual cost of that antenna he he charges you for is less than $100, that's right. And he will not give you a refund.
Many complaints have been filed with the BBB and Michigan's attorney general. How he has continued to be in business this long boggles the mind.
Stay far away from Doug and QIX internet service. You've been forewarned.
If you do your research you'll find Doug has also been previously indicted!

From long-time personal experience, I can tell you that Doug needs help. Please don't enable his issues by buying anthing from him. I realise most of you come here after a bad experience, but do a simple Google and not much comes up regarding all the issues with this man and his companies.

Today is exactly 2 years since I had Doug install his "service". I have had nothing but problems. I call and email but he never replies. the only thing he is good at is cashing my checks every month.
Well I am no longer paying for his "service" until he gets it working as he advertises and he is getting a letter of notice tomorrow.

I also got stuck with $400 worth of equipment from him. It's too bad too since I think he's got a viable biz going if he didn't have his head up his a$$ so far.

As for his previous companies. My understanding is he had a million dollar cell phone biz going that he tanked too. He filed bankruptcy on that, and the QIX biz is therefore owned by his daughters. Officially he works for them. Least that's the story I heard.

Take my advice and look into AirAdvantage and stay away from QIX if you're smart.

I’ve had qix for three months at my own house, but my parents have had it for 2+ years. My parents live very close to one of his towers and their internet works alright. Their download speed is reasonably quick (700-1000K) and their upload speed is decent as well. They do go down every once in a while, but it isn’t much worse than the Comcast I had at my old place. Overall, they aren’t 100% satisfied, but they like it better than dial up. A friend of mine has had a similar experience.

Anyways, when I moved back into the area, I gave qix a call and they hooked my stuff up. Since then, I have had nothing but problems with it. I would say I have been down an average of 3 days a week, once for 2 weeks straight! When it was down for the 2 weeks, Doug insisted it was either my router or computer. I told him it wasn’t, and he said it was. So, I outsmarted him and hooked my router and computer up at my parents’ house and it worked flawlessly. I called him again and he had no choice but to come out and fix it. He said it looked like somebody went on my roof and sabotaged it. Being that there were no footprints in the snow around my house, I called his bluff again. He fixed it; it worked fine for a few days, and went out again. He came out and fixed it again. Since then it has been off and on. I am trying to get a hold of him right now so I can cancel my service. I’ve already learned not to leave a voicemail; you actually have to talk to him to get any results. I switched to airadvantage.net , everybody here should look them up.

I've had airadvantage.net now for a week, and it has yet to go down or have any issues. I regularly see speeds around 1.7Mbps, which is significantly faster than Qix.
