I'm assuming you're talking about Centro Campesino. Let me clarify that they do NOT represent all of the migrant or Hispanic population in this area. If you check back in the People's Press there were some very unethical accusations against them. Rumor is that they went to Austin because no one in Owatonna trusts them anymore! Apparently they CHARGE people for their so called services (and they're supposed to be non-profit!) No one there has any formal education and WHAT EXACTLY DO THEY DO??? The only thing I see them doing is pocketing taxpayers money!!! Get them out!!!

I agree with you on that. I do know for a fact that Centro Campesino does nothing for Migrant workers or anybody else. They only help themselves. Everybody there is related. They charge twenty dollars a person just to register with them and then they so nothing for you. Some thing needs to be done to get them out of there.

How is it that all non-profits are struggling to get by on the small amount of money that they have to operate their agencies; yet Centro Camp. seems to have an over abundance of money to spend on festivities and "incentives" for their members? Does anyone keep track of the money that they receive and spend? What about an audit? Also, have they checked the status of some of their employees? A lot of fishy stuff going on there ...

I think that everyone in there is illegal.No one knows how to speak english. They are not the only ones that do stuff like that Migrant Health also do they same things that Centro Campesino does. So what can we do to get them both out of here? If an audit is what it takes then how do we get it started. I know that Migrant Health helps only illegal people.

Migrant Health helps all migrant workers most of whom are from Texas and not illegal aliens. As for Centro, just look at the article and pic of their immigration protest held in Owatonna. The man in that pic is flaunting his illegal status in our face! It has been known that Centro staffs several undocumented people, yet for some reason no one questions their actions. No one there is qualified and their director has no formal education -yet they are given thousands of tax payers dollars to do what?! People need to start questioning their actions and funding.

I know for a fact that Migrant Health helps illegal people cause I was there when they were helping some of them. I also asked them if people needed to be legal and they said no. They only ask them for their DOB and nothing else.
