I am truly at a loss for words over this - too baffling to understand. I'll bet Mr. Michael Moore could help us all figure this one out! A TERRIBLE situation for all involved.

Note the steak knife was the problem, not the game.

Steak knife nor the game was the problem. The indivdual is the problem. All the games I played at that age with family, freinds and not so much as a scratch.Never had anyone in a physical confrontation such as this. The worse that would happen is an argument and not talking for a few days. But murder! No.The people today lack tolerence.Snap so easily.

My father, granfather, mother, grand mother all had things that were weapons. My grandfather had some W.W.2 service weapons in the bedroom closet,my grandmother had large butcher knives in the kitchen from the butcher that was a freind of our family. There were 3 civil war era swords that my greatgranfather had upstairs, unlocked in his room.No ONE ever took any of these items when something went wrong like loosing a game!Or for any other disagreements!Even heated family arguments no one took to a weapon. These days it's done.WHY?Have we as a people become sooo sensitive about respect, that it's a reason to kill over it?Have we become a bunch of immature children that only solves a problem by killing.Does thinking through a problem hurt the brain too much?I'm glad I lived most my life during the years when people were more civil minded.Disputes didn't end with a shooting, maybe a bloody nose, but no one was killed over trivial matters.I said it before,we are regressing to a lower life form.Technology is advancing, people disadvancing.I won't be a bit surprised if coleseums are once again erected to put on death matches for us to settle disputes the way things are going,in leiu of courts.

Gee - I got plenty mad at my brother and sister when we were kids, but I never had the urge to plunge a knife into them.

Why do kids today seem to have such terrible anger management problems?

Does it REALLY matter what game the kid was playing. What he did was wrong and he should get punish. Don't point the finger at other but yourself.

As for "monkey see...monkey do" I'm sure you watch tv and movies and I assume you don't go around doing what you see, so just shut it.

Even kids can seperate fact from fiction! You can't always take the easy route and blame the video games, or tv or music for real life.

Today's parents had better get ahold of their children and guide them in the way that they should go.Kids don't need parents as friends, they need instruction and supervision. If you and your child have a really good relationship, without any conflict or disagreements, you're probably doing something wrong.

Appears YOU could use some anger management LOL I'm afraid that many impressionalble people are unfortunately desensitized by all the violence seen on TV and played in some video games. I don't choose to watch violent shows/movies and don't choose to play video games - never WOULD play a violent video game. Unfortunately some people (particularly children) do NOT have a grasp of reality - been that way since the beginning of time - just read the latest headlines about killing, violence, etc.

While I believe 'glorified violence' is too prevalent in our society, parents are to blame when kids are stabbing their siblings over who has control of a video game controller.

And I guess the video game will somehow be blamed for this?
