I remember when the word gay meant something good.

A small percentage of people have always been homosexual. My anecdotal experience of over 50 years is that a majority of them also have some sort of mental disorder, mainly the need to be recognized as different by their public behavior. And psychiatrists still recognize "ego-dystonic" (compared to "ego-syntonic") gays as abnormal. I don't believe they should be victims of discrimination, but I liked things better when they stayed in the closet.

Very upsetting!! God created Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve. If we were to be so accepting of homosexuality, then why is it clearly defined as a sin in the Bible? Instead of becoming more tolerant, we need to stand up for what is Biblically sound.

The ELCA church assembly is simply a political process. They had enough delegates to get their agenda passed. Shake the dust off your feet and walk away. The Reformation is over in the ELCA and we lost. Don't think Martin had this in mind when he wrote his 95 Thesis. Wonder where this one would be on the list. Now where do we go?

It is somwhat confusing, that those Christian believers ,who supossedly accept the bible as the word of God, now attempt to circumvent those Biblical directives ,that label Lesbian or Homosexual relationships as sinful and unacceptable , are now trying to rationalize or redefine them , by refering to similar directives, that tell us to be non-judgemental,loving and forgiving. To Me it appears that the churches are trying to change the long accepted Christian beliefs, just to enlarge their diminishing numbers and keep the Dollars flowing.

The Methodists have been struggling with this issue too and IF they cave in they will see a huge exodus of their members too.

Its sad that people no longer accept the Bible for what it is; God's Word; period. There should be absoluely NO compromise on this issue.

well organized religion is all about money.
and control afterall.

but little do people know there have been gays in every aspect of your life for ever and ever
gays in your families. in your churches, in the pews right next to you

paying taxes,raising families,saving lives,teaching your kids etc.

but ignorance will always live on and people will always be afraid of what they do not understand.

I don't have a problem with my homosexual friends living their life they way they want. It's america and I'm thankful for it but after being questioned how can I be so far "Right" and still have someone gay as a friend I told him, The Bible I've been brought up with has clearly stated homosexuality is wrong in God's eye's BUT it also says forgive the sinner but not the sin. That is the job of God. I really don't think it is inline with the teachings of the Bible to have leaders in the church that are gay when it is considered a sin...

Dear What is going on,

I would look for a good bible teaching church, maybe non-denominational or an Evangelical Free church. As long as they keep the bible and Jesus as their focus.

What you THINK is God's word is man's translation of the original words. You know how easy it is to lose something in the translation. Just imagine how much has been changed in all this time. If you can't read the original, you should rely on those who can and read their findings. I believe this is what the Luteran Church members did.

This is America, I don't "have" to accept jack sh*t if I don't want to.
You don't have to accept me, or even like me, but you need to make sure I have the rights guaranteed in the constitution. If one group is denied their rights, everybody loses.

Daisy - Right and Wrong is determined by opinion? So billions of people can be right with "DIFFERENT" answers to questions and they have RIGHTS , based on that opinion? How about Hitler , Charles Manson , Jeffrey Dalmer , ect...... Here's a hint : without the BIBLE and God's word "TO US" , these guys WOULD BE JUSTIFIED according to "your definition" of right and wrong. Moral standards were created by the power who created people peroid , to do otherwise creates chaos , disfunction , uncivilized living , thus our current world we live in. There is one truth and all it takes is "willingness" to find it. GOD SAVE OUR GREAT NATION

Anyone committing a gross sin shouldnt be
accepted as a minister,or leader in any church.
Personally Im not gay, but Im also not acceptable
material for the leadership of a congregation.
Only Godly people should have this job,and I
dont see many around.

Where are you getting your facts from? Your anecdotal experience is based on personal and casual observation which means that is your opinion,(which you are entitled to), but has absolutely nothing to do with facts. It was in 1983 the Psychiatrics Association of America recognized homo sexuality as not being “different” or “abnormal”. I do appreciate you going on to say that we should not be victims of discrimination. Thanks

So, if something is not "abnormal", than by the process of elimination it must be considered "normal."

Let me ask you, do you think it is normal to place an erect penis into the anus, and then commence with sodomy? Basically, using the male anus as a recepticle for sexual intercourse; an outlet for feces and waste, used as an intlet for another man's sexual desires? How about water sports? Fisting? What, you think that nasty crap is NORMAL and good, clean, moral fum???

Does that sound NORMAL to you? I hardly think so.....it sounds perverse, against the natural order of reproduction, and also disgusting based upon the medical fact that the anus/rectum was not designed to accept objects INTO it for the purpose of sexual satisfaction.

Doesn't sound so normal does it? Did you know that the members of NAMBLA think that the perverse sexual "love" they feel towards underage boys is "Normal"? They actively promote and try to make their behaviour seem "normal" because they just can't help themselves. How many more years will it be until their disgusting, sick, perverse pleasures are considered normal, and the rest of the majority of people have to stand by and put up with it, just like the homosexual lifestyle that is flaunted in front of us today? 100 years ago you'd be locked up for being a fairy, today it's an acceptable lifestyle choice. What will be acceptable 20 years from now? NAMBLA might be a freakin political movement if all of this perversion is allowed to continue.

Just think about everything that is now "normal" that was seen as wrong, immoral, disgusting, unclean, and illegal only 50-60 years ago. Gee, why is our society looking more and more like a toilet bowl? I wonder why??????

You are a freaking moron!!! And 50-60 years ago it wasn't okay for women to work out of the home, black and white children went to seperate schools and most of all 50-60 years ago NO ONE would use the word "fisting" in public. You are so uncouth to even bring up what someone does in their bedroom to demean their moral fiber. There are so many people that do those things with their opposite sex partner, but I guess that makes it okay since it's the opposite sex. You need to get your HEAD out of your anus and get with reality.
