I can because they are supposed to hate the sin not the sinner. What they are doing is hating both and using the Bible to do it.
Choosing not to condone a sinful practice and walking away from any so-called church that permits it does not say "hate" to me. It defines a prudent and discerning believer doing as the Bible instructs us to do. If they were to remain in that church it'd be equivalent to giving it their stamp of approval---something I would hope no true follower of Christ would do.

Who cares what you hope? You're not a Lutheran, and your opinion on the position the ELCA takes is irrelevant.

I disagree. Anyone professing to be Christian is under the scrutiny of other Christians and is held accountable. There are Biblical instructions for those who are not upholding the faith---public rebuking is one of them.

Hypocrites who hook in York County parks for their homosexual liasons.

The scrutiny of other Christians is irrelevant. The scrutiny of one's own God is all that matters.

That's your truth--not mine. Your own god isn't going to take you where you want to go.

Who says adultery and fornication are ok? Where do you get your information?

They have no problem with ministers that have remarried after divorce on non-Biblical grounds.
Who are you referring to as being "ok" with it"? My church wouldn't be.

-- your comment about hating to "another commenter" leaving his church has nothing to do with hating anyone but is about the church making ACCEPTABLE something not ACCEPTABLE! Christians have compassion for all people, whomever they are or regardless of what they have done. BUT those same Christians are saying NO to allowing perversions to be considered Normal in their church!
Homosexuals should NOT be ordained in any mainstream church because they are OPENLY SINNING.
We are not just talking about gays but LGBT people which includes cross dressers, transvestites, homosexuals - the whole nine yards!!
Do you want someone who has had a sex change or a transvestite leading you in your church?
I say .. if they want to be a LGBT person, go make your own church 'cause you don't belong leading mine.
That said ... the "Jesus users" who are ordained and using the church to provide them a good living, all the perks, etc but are NOT performing the duties that go along with that title of PASTOR, you should go too!! Add to that, the members of these churches should not be allowing them to STAY 'cause they think it is "unchristian" to protest these people. Get real!!
Churches and congregations today have a lot of issues to deal with and these Political issues DO NOT belong in the church. We need to be teaching the basics, how to live in this world today, and we should NOT be promoting genetic defects or sexual perversions as "normal!"
Very true. Christians are to responsible for keeping the evil out of the churches and there is a prescribed way for doing it in Scripture. We are to be accountable and rebuke those who are not.

So? Your church doesn't matter to anyone but its own members. And your opinion on what Lutherans do doesn't matter to anyone at all, since you AREN'T LUTHERAN.

What is your problem? What does it matter if someone is Lutheran or not? If they CLAIM to be Christian, they open the floodgate to Christian scrutiny. It's not rocket science.

Are you overly sensitive to the issue for a reason you'd like to share instead of being so bitter and hateful?

I wouldn't share anything with a supercilious, self-aggrandizing bi*ch like you if my life depended on it. You're a snotty little sh*t who thinks she has all the answers, even if no one asks for her opinion.

Go blow yourself.
