The feline that attacked Santa is not a PixieBob. If you have questions, please search the internet for PixieBob breeders and learn about this wonderful "dog-like" breed.

Why do people insist on beeding domestic animals with wild ones? Invariably, there are problems. Couldn't anyone predict that a half-wild animal might freak out in a setting with lots of dogs? Wolves, tigers, bobcats - these are not PETS, people. Your desire to own a "cool" animal shouldn't supercede what little common sense you may have.

Curious, I checked out http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/28162817/ and that is a bobcat. I have worked with bobcats for more than 20 years and have 47 of them at Big Cat Rescue. The cat is not a hybrid, not a Pixie Bob. The owner is lying. See dozens of bobcat photos for yourself at BigCatRescue.org Carole Baskin CEO of Big Cat Rescue

I have a 27 pound Main Coon, he's Not fat just big he has his claws and he does Bite(a lot!). I moved to FL and brought it in to the local animal hospital to get a license (I have had him for 15 years) and they said that he couldn't be a domestic cat and tried to keep him. I grabbed him and ran(they are not a no kill shelter) although he has all his shots they will not give me a license(I didn't need one in Ohio)

Advice???

I looked at the pic, Looks like a PixieBob to me.(actually he looks a lot like my Main Coon, he's not a pure bred, only smaller and without a tail)

From what I have read about the Pixie Bob they aren't aggressive, though any cat might bite if they are freaked out.

I have a 14 year old F1 Pixie Bob, I have been around Bobcats and Pixies for that many plus years. That is NOT a Pixie Bob. The owner is obviously skating around the fact she has a Bobcat without the necessary papers and permits, not to mention they are illegal in Jersey anyways. Pixie Bobs can get aggressive when scared, but for the majority are very mild mannered, they have many traits of the Bobcat but retain the American Shorthair looks as well. That Bobcat has none of those.

My cat looks a lot like that one(only BIGGER) and he Will bite you(It took three people and myself to get a blood sample for the vet(he makes me dope him up before I bring him in). But I have had him 15 years and although he is quite feral sometimes I'm pretty sure he's just a cat.

That cat looks like a Bobcat - not a Pixie Bob. Also, Pixie Bobs have NEVER been bred with Bobcats. Carol Anne Brewer would just like everyone to think her original breeding stock MIGHT be descended from Bobcat/domestic cat crosses. The ancestry of the Pixie Bob is "legendary" and even Carol Anne Brewer's original story (which you CAN find on the Internet) states as much.
