This week in Morgan County...

They will have their hands full going thru felony after felony in this County.

Morgan County has been quite busy with Murders, Home Invasions, Robbery's etc....

General Sessions Judge Davis turn FELONS back out on the streets as fast as the Sheriff can book them. Then blames it on jail overcrowding, however Morgan County, houses state inmates!

Looks as if Morgan County is worried more about their pocketbooks than their CITIZENS.

Hopefully the GRAND JURY can help this county get some criminals off the streets!

Judge Davis will set their bail, and then a couple of days later lower it way down for certain ones. Why is this happening???

Clearly you don't know what you're talking about "Mike". Judge Davis is a General Sessions Judge. Grand Jury indictments are through Criminal Court, which is Judge Eblen. So, Mr. Davis has nothing to do with the bonds for indictments, nor does he deal with the defendants of the indictments.

Anyone arrested appears before the General Sessions Judge, he then sets bond. If this person pleads guilty the Sessions Judge sets his sentence. He can and does also lower these bonds at his will. If they have been indicted by the Grand Jury then Eblen will set their bond. 90% of the arrest in Morgan County happens before they go to the Grand Jury.

I was only speaking of grand jury indictments. They get arrested on the indictments, it is automatic Criminal Court. For their indictments they do not go in front of sessions Judge unless they'd been previously charged and it was bound over.

Then who sets the bond? I am glad a reasoable bond can be set for people who make mistakes. Some that have a bad record and keep vop charges and things get out after they serve time. Mr. davis's job is harder than it looks.

When Dusty Vepie was arrested for his home invasion on Joe Phillips after only 12 days in jail Judge Davis lowered his 102,000.00 bond down to 10,000.00 and the bail bondsman let him make payments on that! Then the Judge Davis said it was because of jail over crowding.... What a joke! Let attackers go free.... and jail up the dope heads....guess so they can keep their dealers on hand!

The judge says jail is over crowded so he turns some loose early. Well if they wasn't worried about housing state inmates for the money, they'd have room in the jail. Its a county jail not a holding jail for state inmates.

I would say he is sick and tired of dealing with the same low lifes and dead beats that think the court house is a revolving door. The judge must be there promptly!1 THEN deal with these people that can't even get there on time. The judge has a tremendous amount of responsibility. These alleged criminals are summons to court 3 or 4 times a year. mr. Davis is at the court house everyday he has court or a meeting of some importance to the county. I could do it as long as he has.....

Yeah...Keeping his best eye on his girlfriend! He needs to stop sending misdemeanor criminals to jail and releasing the FELONS!
And turning the funeral home into his courtroom is nothing but disrespectful to everyone in the county....that funeral home should be a place to keep records not display the county's stupidity!

I would think the Judges job is very hard. It's hard to have to appear in court for any reason. He has to be there every time and see the same people time after time. Any human being would have to just be sick of being there regardless of what side of the bench you are on.....

Sitting here looking at this, relaxing and drinking my Bud....I just realized Davis can't do anything to Felons but set a bail and bind them to the grand jury.....They shouldn't fool with that funeral home....instead should have spent 10 million on a whole new courthouse and justice center....
