Mourners create memorial, hold vigil for city boy killed on bicycle
A dozen-plus candles were lit and flickering - a few more than the number of years young Drew Bogroff lived.

people really shouldn't make fools of themselves by commenting on a story they know nothing about.. You read a story and suddenly your an expert?? Do any of you know the details of Drew's accident? If so than you would know that a helmet would not have saved his life!! Also, he was not one of those kids you see running around the city disregarding bicycle and traffic laws. He never left his neighborhood. He was NOT a city boy, he was from a suburb in socal.... out of respect, please keep your negative comments to yourself...

yes he was a great kid i knew him and was technicly related to him he was in the park and these 2 girls were getting bullied so he wanted to help them out so he went on his bike to go tell his mom so she can call the cops or get help but no the guy ran over him. we still will never know if he ran infront of the car or if the guy was on the phone not paying attention and by the way he died on the ground with his moms boyfriend and his friend he did not die in the hospital we miss drew and we hope that he is safe and happy but now he knows that his brother jordan and his new brother are safe in a new home

I can't believe people would even post anything negative about A YOUNG BOY LOSING HIS LIFE. The fact of the matter is: the driver should have been MORE ALERT. My mother always told me to watch for children in the roads...they are kids. They don't expect to die. Im sure Im not the only one who was told to watch for kids in the road. However what is most disturbing is that someone blamed it on him being a city boy. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? SO WHAT! Even if he wasnt raised in a suburb in Socal....does that make him less significant? less intelligent? more animalistic? because he came from a city? REALLY? People who think like that just remind me of how ignorant and heartless man kind can truly be. Just to remind some people of proper mannerisms: when someone dies, especially a child, SHOW SOME RESPECT! He was 11 people. ELEVEN. I wanted to leave a simple comment of condolence to the family. Especially his mother and siblings. To tell Drew that I hope he is happy in heaven looking down on the people he loves waiting to be reunited with them...but after i saw how people were putting negative comments IT JUST OUTRAGED ME. When you lose someone you love I truly pray someone doesn't do what you did to Drew's family by posting comments like those...because that is truly heinous. RIP DREW BOGROFF - YOU WILL BE MISSED, BY THOSE WHO KNEW YOU AND LOVED YOU AND BY THOSE WHO LOST THE CHANCE TO BE BLESSED WITH KNOWING YOU. YOU SEEMED LIKE A HERO TO ME. IN A CITY FULL OF PEOPLE WHO TURN THEIR CHEEK THE OTHER WAY, YOU DID NOT! YOU RACED HOME TO HELP PEOPLE YOU DIDNT EVEN KNOW. TO ME YOU ARE A HERO, AND MAYBE THAT'S WHY GOD TOOK YOU...HE NEEDED MORE ANGELS LIKE YOU DREW. AT ONLY 11 YOU HAD THE HEART OF A GIANT.
