I agree with you. I was charged $47.50 for a storage and what those are $5. at Walmart. We had no choice it was wrapped along with the book to buy it. I have been overcharged with my account at daymar at least twice. Watch your account. murfreesboro daymar has incompentant fools over the program all the way up the ladder.
for each good teacher I had they left are not program lead. There really needs to be a investigation on the people running the college there from somewhere else.

To wow - That is CRAZY! I would give that lawyer a call ASAP. And I don't feel alone anymore, someone from chillicothe posting on here. lol.
To all the Tennessee Students - You should also talk to the lawyers. They have traveled to Ohio for meetings with the students and former students. Give them a call. They will probably come meet with you guys as well.
The way I'm looking at this, this lawsuit is getting huge. Involving all 3 states.

Another gripe of mine to add to the list; I was in the massage therapy program. 3rd quarter, I was told that our table, lotions, bed sheets, etc etc etc. would be included in our tuition for that quarter. They "did our financial aid wrong", & now we have to pay 50 DOLLARS A MONTH to pay it off! That happened days after I stopped going. Good thing I quit when I did; Daymar is not getting another dime out of me.

-shaking head- Absolutely awful to hear. You should give the lawyers a call. And I think we all need to band together & contact the media & MAKE these stories be heard. Do you know if anyone else got the same issue you have?

I'm not sure if I can say the same for the other ross county student, but I know that I had asked if I could just purchase the stuff I need from Amazon or somewhere else.[because the higher the total got, the more I wanted to faint where I stood!] The lady gave me a flat-out NO and said that I HAD to buy them there.

I to feel the same way. I went to Daymar in Louisville for 12 months busting my butt to get good grades. I was told by my admissions rep that my medical assisting degree was equivalent to a lpn just in the doctors office. Cost to 7 months into my college experience a letter was sent to my student loan companies saying I was no longer in need of their services. Well the student loan company assumed I was no longer a student. Before my 4th quarter my student loans went into default making me ineligible for financial aid. I went to student services wanting to withdraw and was told not to. That they would help me. Well that never happened. I was involved in student advisory committee and student mentoring and basically they didn't want me to withdraw cause I knew stuff and heard stuff that went on that shouldn't have. Well even with that I still got no help dealing with my financial aid. I had to go to another school to get help. It took me 6 months to get the stuff straightened out. But because they wouldn't let me drop they are now saying I owe them $14,000+ not including my student loans. I to felt stuffed on books because they were packaged in a way we couldn't get them else where. I withdrew and am still getting emails from them saying now that you have graduated please come back for your bachelors or make use of out career services. News flash, I never graduated. I to contacted the lawyers because I was told that they had a deal with Galen school of Nursing to take all of our credit. Upon talking to the school they will not take any of them. I feel mislead and stuck with outrageous debt. I'm a single mom with 3 kids this is ridiculous.

The media has been contacted. They have been running stories on it in Louisville. Not sure its doing any good. Has anyone contacted the creditors and reported them for fraudulently fixing grades. ACICS needs to know what is going on. I contacted them at one point and they were under investigation, but if several people contact them they have to do something!

I would also like to know where all the money that is raised for the daymar foundation goes. I know a girl who had applied for the scholarship and then withdrew and still got it. I watched the student services coordinator hand her the check and say if u don't tell I won't tell. When there was other students that needed it. What kinda crap is that!

Let me tell you my story. I startrd daymar college a year ago, and It has been nothing but hell. My first teacher which was teaching the major corses needed for my field of study. The first class A+ the book is like almost 3000 pages. He sometimes comes in late. Then spends the next 20 to 45 min talking about his weekend, kid, or his girlfriend. When he goes through the book he would flip through a lot of the pages telling me I do not need to know these for the Exam. There was about 5 to 600 pages that he did not cover. His finals were open book so there was no challenge at all. On one of his finals he gave me a copy of the final with answers a week before hand. It got so bad that in two of those classes I took with him the the other students dropped or changed majors.

I switched to night classes. The class I have is on Windows 7. The book which Daymar says it will get us to pass the exam is only 500 pages long. My teacher is going to take the same exam in a few months. His book covers the same materal yet there is almost 1000 pages in his book. The teacher told our class that if we relay only on the book the school gave us we will fail the exam.

I have decided to change schools but I feel like I have been robbed. I feel that I should get all my money back.

No one can produce 100% job placement that is impossible. You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make him drink. Daymar should be more selective of its students.

I'm thinking that realisticly speaking, you can't please everybody and I'm just wondering about the source of the complaints here ... is it just a case of someone being lazy and not wanting to do their part and wanting to blame Daymar OR there is a vindictive person that wants to get even OR if there is really a problem here with the college?

Recently students of Daymar College in Jackson have been removed from class, one by one, to discuss financial aid. I have yet to be removed from class, as there was not enough time, but have been told by my fellow students that there will be less student funding.

At our Daymar several students and I asked about purchasing our own books and were told there would not be an issue other than sometimes books are upgraded so the books we purchase may not be the same. We were also told we may receive help with job placement but were not told they will place
us.

I did a google search on Daymar College because I feel there was a breach in our contract. We were told by financial aid that a certain amount would be paid and we would pay back a certain amount once we graduated. Now we are told financial loans will cover even less and the rest we pay out of pocket. I feel I need to continue attending in order to not breach MY contract yet I feel as if I am wasting my precious time. I want to look further into this issue and weigh out my options before getting a lawyer.

I must say, all of the teachers I have had are wonderful teachers but their quick skimming over our chapters and not wanting to take the time to actually explain things is a bit disheartening. I feel as if I have to teach myself once I am home.
Nobody to Blame but YOU

Wow. I don't think you can blame Daymar because most of you are too stupid to tie your own shoes.
Read the student handbook. Read the fine print on your loan agreement. Look online or in bookstores to find the books at a lower cost. Same goes for scrubs. Lab fees are required for any hands-on skills-related part of a course, not just for a computer lab. If you're receiving an Associate's degree, understand that you are a half-step above a high school diploma. Don't expect to make much more than they do. And nobody can promise you a job, especially in this economy. Wise up, READ the information, and learn how to spell and assemble a sentence.
