ahhh... let the poor guy alone, or perhaps 9 months more time served, working in the funeral home, preparing victims of fatal DWI related crashes, so that the families will have a decent viewing and the solice that at least one of those elements of society that causes these murders is learning through a "hands on" program the impact and intensity of his actions.... but wait... there must be a judge involved... he will get free time, tv, legal counsel and every other touchy feely variable to his sentence becaue he has feelings and an illness...(x8)

With the number of DWIs he has had the state make to much money off of him to take it away. I dont agree with drinking and driving, he should have lost it the first time. He has no respect for any life. Its sad to say , but neither does the judges that keep letting him off.

According to DOT stats distracted drivers cause 2 to 3 times the accidents and fatalities that drunk drivers do. If we are concerned with loss of life maybe we should start jailing drivers for cell phone infractions, et.
It only takes a few drinks in an hour to be arrested. He is guilty of being caught. How many of us are also guilty.
I was taught "People in glass houses don't throw rocks". A poor diet is 10000 times more likely to kill you than a DD.

If you last statement was true then why is it I know two people that were killed in dd accidents? One many years ago and one not even a year ago. So are you saying its ok to drink and drive? By the way my record is clean, I have never drank and then drove. If I have as im sure you will come back and say then show the proof. People like this idiot we are on here for have no respect for life.

Distracted drivers are as if not more dangerous. They aren't labled "no respect for life". I know 2 people killed by a distracted driver. Why differentiate between the two. Should we jail peple for cell phone use and driving. If not why?

It's all fun and games til this jerk actually kills someone while DWI. Welcome to NY, where DWI multiple offenders and illegal immigrants can get a NYS license.

Our system is broken. The problem is that he was charged with DWI 8 times. In most of those 8 cases the DWI charge did not stick, and it was reduced to a DWUI to simplify things for the prosecution and the judge.
It works the same way with speeding. You can get a speeding ticket every week and get the standard plea deal reducing it to a parking ticket each time. Your license will never be at risk. Maybe Spitzer can hire him to be his driver.

Licence or not, the self centered drunk driving losers feel they are above the law and will drive anyway. The laws have to change, more jail time and I know that countries in Europe will impound and crush the cars that these guys drive. Be careful, because they are out there and at all times of the day and night.

The court system has allowed themselves to become lethargic and slouthful in their response to crimes and DUI is a crime. I have seen first-hand the result of accidents where drinking was a factor and it is horrible. Let us not wait until it happens to our friends and families to take action. And we should know by now that "just say no" does not work because once alcohol is consumed reason does not factor in the decision to not drive.

He hasn't killed anyone. Ten percent of the drivers cause 90% of accidents. Lock up all the bad drivers and or accident rates will fall 90%. Close all the Bars?
