I would like to say thank you to you, Curious and Self Sufficient. Your kind words show me that there are still caring and concerned people out there in the world. I don't have alot of friends anymore, mostly because I choose not to. My closest friends now are those I attend church with because they are truly genuine caring people. I had so many "so-called" friends while in active addiction but I had to rid myself of those people in order to succed. I found that they were only around to benefit or to use me but when I was in jail, scared and all alone they were nowhere to be found. I thank God every day for saving mt life, for helping me to finally break the cycle. Even though that was the hardest point in my life, I would not change it because it has made me who I am today. I learned so much going through the hardship, i found myself and who I really am. So many people just simply do not want to change or do not know how. But I am living proof that it is possible. You have to change your people, places and things. That is a must. You cannot try to stay clean and keep going to your using buddies house in weekends and expect to stay clean because it's only a matter of time before you fall back into it. You can't pretend that you can use just one more time and stop or only use on weekends, that does not work. I know how hard it is and it takes complete self control. It also takes time for your life to seem like it's "normal" again but just hang in there and remember that you didn't get that way overnight so you're not going to fix it overnight. Again to you three, your kind words will hold a place in my heart and I am si glad to Self Sufficient that you made the right choice to say no to the narcotics, that was a very wise choice indeed.

Thank You, Walk a Mile... The kind words from someone who has been there, means very much to me and I do believe that you are on the right road, just keep strong. Some may even say I am "hard headed", but I choose to take that as a compliment. hahaha

A compliment indeed.. You may be hard- headed as they say, but being just that in that situation could have possibly saved your life..

I think that is a big part of it. You have to break away from everyone that isnt a good influence or enabling you. You made the right choice! I hope that more people look at you as a role model to try to beat it themselves.

Yes I do but I have not posted for a few months due to all the other "Curious" posters I did not want to be confused with them. Plus, all I ever see on here much is a bunch of nonsense and not much truly cival and productive conversations. I do not know what you are concerned about. Unless of course you are seeking a position somewhere. I suggest the classifieds in the papers and careerbuilders.com to start your search.

P.s. If your curious if my stance has changed on this subject matter. It has not. Throw them all in prison and rehab far as I am concerned dealers and the buyers. Drugs are nothing but a coping skill used by the weak willed and minded to escape a reality they can not face. Losers are users and drug abusers. I have never seen an addict contribute anything to society positive. Maybe a recovering one but not one whom is using. That is a fact. All most addicts do is bleed our system and cause turmoil in the lives of those unfortunate enough to be around them.

@Red blood. A posting such as yours is all the proof one needs to stay off drugs. I don't think anyone would have a clue as to what your even rambling on about.

charlie...from what I understand, people travel to florida and doctor shop. They are getting scripts from docs in FL. Yes their is a program that is suppose to alert doctors that a person may be doctor shopping but Im not sure that it is nation wide and if it isnt then it needs to be. I agree with you, scripts for narcotics should be given a month at a time. I think one of the problems is pharmacutical companies are paying doctors to distribute or write scripts for these drugs. They are surely getting some sort of kick back to push them. And, Im not saying its all the doctors fault, but that IS part of the problem. The other problem is the people that want these drugs for reasons other then pain or medical...want them to get high or make money. Want them so bad they will drive to FL to get them or order them online and have them shipped to their home. Hell, you can go right across the border in Mexico and go see a "doctor" and get a script and medication and they ask you at the border, if you have any alcohol or prescriptions you need to pay tax on. Or at least thats how it was about 10 years ago. I mean what the hell!
Yes.. that is what I have heard too. They leave two weeks, come in monthly, then go right back. Now that is what I have been told. Florida and Georgia! I do know this.. I hope they all get caught, because I have seen how drugs destroy the whole family, not just the addict. I would rather a family member be in jail, even though you love them, rather out here selling or destroying a young childs life!!
